This is what PWA is pushing For Thursday Night. GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! F 15 FLYOVER

Thursday, Sept. 3, marks the University of Connecticut football team's first home game of the 2015 season. It's also the first event in the newly renamed Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field, and you're invited to help commemorate the occasion.

Your $10 ticket gets you:

ü Private Pratt & Whitney tailgate area with DJ and games for the kids. Note: Employees are responsible for their own food and beverage.

ü FREE Pratt & Whitney 90th anniversary football jersey, pompoms and rally towels

ü F-15 flyover before the game

ü Challenger the Eagle flight during national anthem

ü Photo-ops with Jonathan the mascot, UConn cheerleaders and Challenger the Eagle

ü UConn marching band tribute to Pratt & Whitney during half time

ü Employee recognition on jumbotron

ü UConn cheerleaders escort employees to Husky Walk to greet players arriving at the stadium. Bring the kids in their youth football jersey or cheerleading uniform.

ü UConn Fan Fest – Bring your youth hockey player to meet the UConn hockey team for autographs and photo-ops.

It is not going to be close to a full house.

I cannot beg someone to come to the game with me Thursday. I'm skipping tailgating and sitting in the stands by myself. I'm guessing I'll have my choice of prime real estate seats if I want to sit wherever I want.

Same boat as Jimmy. Waiting to hear back tonight from a,buddy of mine who used to get season tickets. I remember a time where people would try and hit me up for extras offering to pay. Times have changed. Some of that was the novelty, I get it.

I used to go alone most of the time. Looks as if that won't be happening much anymore. :D

You never know which games will interest who. But a solid on-field product is obviously a must.

15,000 season tix plus another 10K (part due to the promotion and partly due to interested people who gave up season tix and buy single game). I don't think that it's reasonable to expect more than 25k at this point in time.

Be interested in seeing student turnout. First week of classes so students are getting rowdy, would be interested to see how many make the trek to PAWS ARF.

I knew this board was filled with social misfits, but there are three posters in this thread admitting to going to football games by themselves. Good lord.
I'm the last of a group of 8 season ticket holders. Most people no longer see the need for season tickets when they can cherry pick games they want for less money. Social, misfit that I am, I choose to continue to support the program.

I was just teasing. I guess I can see dropping some of our season tickets when some of the kids in our group head off to college. Right now we just get a bunch of tickets and if someone knows they aren't coming, someone else brings a friend, often a kid's friend.

Same here. Last of 6. All but two of us no longer live in CT, but I keep my season tix every year as a donation to the program (even though I only make 1-2 games per season on account of being down in NYC).

I used to go to a lot of games alone at Memorial. I'd go alone if I have to but my wife likes going and I have at least one friend who is willing to go if she can't. Other than that - good luck.

I was happy that my group actually grew by two to 16 this year. Problem is actual attendance from the group on a game by game basis is lower than ever and reaching an all time low for SMU when it was me and my daughter representing our entire group by huddling under the stands next to Deion Sanders in the rain last year . I still enjoy the whole deal (tailgating/game/postgame) even though its been 3 rough years. I go into each season with a lot of optimism.....I hope not to be crushed by the time the Army game ends.

If we get 30,000 for this it will be a great showing. I think 25,000. Bad team playing an FCS team on a Thursday night when many people have to get up the next day. Yeah its the beginning of the holiday weekend, but lots of folks still have to get up for Friday.

What are the chances that your friend is a closet Boneyarder like yourself?

I'll be with all the other social misfits at PAWS Thursday night, in spirit anyway, as I watch and cheer on my Huskies from 1,400 miles away in TX. At least the beer will be cold. Saw some good looking Oktoberfest brews at the store this weekend and think a sample pack of 6 would do just fine. Hope to drink them happy.

I don't go to every game (MBB long time Season ticket holders) but when I do I'm almost always alone. But I've managed to get two buddies who've never been to the Rent to buy tix for Villanova so it will be the three of us. Hope to convert some new fans. Counting on the Huskies to not let me down.

We should have a pre-game post of all the solo game attending 'Yarders so we can somehow congregate at the games. I know my section 221 on Thursday has a bunch of empty seats.

I have my tailgate crew of 12. Then my daughter ordered 4 tix yesterday & will join our tailgate. Son at UConn (grad school) didn't buy student tix this season, but is mulling going to the game anyway.

Our group has shrunk from 6 to 2 over the years. It's down to just my brother and I. I reckon every other group that began as a healthy number has now shrunk to next-to-nothing or, worse yet, nothing. I'll whistle zippity do da if we can find a way to get 30K inside the stadium on Thursday night. I think the gate will likely read somewhere between 25-30K.

People are underestimating how much damage a few losing seasons coupled with the CR disaster has done to the fan base. It's almost been the perfect storm.
Unfortunately the number is accurate. The FD hires staff based on expected attendance. Needless to say, there won't be a large presence.
