If UCONN wins out.....

My son thinks that PP has taken over the offense and GDL is sitting in glass house pretending he is still in charge, as it has been a change on the OL as if all of a sudden they suddenly figured out how to
open holes for Lyle.

Make sense. The improvement in the OL play has been very dramatic and it has been down without Masters.

No extension but I'd wager the full contract gets honored.

Common sense dictates that you can never leave a coach in 1-year contract limbo in major college athletics. It hurts too much with recruiting/program stability. You either invest/extend or fire/tcan at that point.

...

Unless you are Warde Manual.

...

We're screwed.

If we win and go to a bowl game and win AND he gets an extension, I will never buy another ticket for any games and will stop donating the little money that I have to begin with.

J,
I almost never agree with anything you write. I can't think of a post on this board, or the old scout forums, that made me think "hey....Jay is right about XXX". As a matter of fact, most things you write make me want to punch children and/or small animals in the face.
BUT, young man, you have gone and totally redeemed yourself in my eyes. This post is so spot on that i can't express in words how spot on it is. There are no available words in our language....or any other that i'm aware of.
Well played sir. You are a man among boys today.

Interesting thought...

You're giving him an awful lot of credit for objecting to something that not one person in the world considers to be even a remote possibility. Why on earth would UConn give a coach under contract through the 2015 season an extension for the 2016 and later seasons after 2 underperforming seasons?

Easy FfldCntyFan....get a patch for your blow-up doll....everything will be ok.

Don't want HCPP back either, but I don't have confidence in the AD/President....could see them take the cheap way out and try to extend rather than investing in a better candidate
Easy? You're lucky I didn't break out my baseball bat for that comment.

Seriously, at the time of your initial post PP was 1/3 through his current contract. If he had even performed a few games better last year and this year to date, what reason would the administration have to extend him? Why would finishing .500 (sub .500 in a very weak BE) against a less than challenging schedule warrant an extension?

I honestly thought that your post was a childish attempt to get some attention as I did not see how anyone with a working brain could suggest something like this on a serious level. Worse is your claim that potentially throwing more money away would somehow be a cheap way out. How does this make any sense?

Top 10 defenses don't give up 41 points to syracuse, 30 to western michigan, or choke on the final drive vs Temple. Good solid defense that has absolutely carried us for all of our wins. People are still saying top 10?

The NCAA stats have us at 10 in total defense and 19 in scoring defense. You could argue that the stats are inflated due to SOS (or lack thereof) but those are the facts.
