I'd trade it.

It would not surprise me of the entire lottery was a wipeout - not sure I see a single all-star there.

Problem is - you need a buyer for what you're selling. Nobody even wants their own picks. This is the first NBA Draft where I expected to hear David Stern say "with the 18th pick, the (choose NBA team) passes".

I think if they all had a choice, they'd turn in their draft pick this year just for one or two extra ping pong balls next year.

The problem is there is no value in trading out when nobody wants to trade in. I say you might as well take a shot at one of these kids and hope they at least develop into a rotation player.

As for the Pelicans, formerly known as the Hornets, they have to be considered the big winners of tonight's draft. They somehow turned the #6 pick in a horrific draft into a kid that turned 23 two weeks ago and averaged 18 and 8 last year.

I think you're right - Jrue Holiday is the steal of the draft thus far.

Here comes the Knicks...

Oladipo is a rich man's Tony Allen. I can't believe he went second.

This is the kind of draft that creates rules where you have to sign your first round pick.

You could let the clock run out for fun.

VO will be a good player in the association for a very long time. I watched more IU the last couple years than UConn and I love his game, a million times more than Lamb. If Lamb is a lottery pick, why can't VO be a high one in a very weak draft. Orlando is the only team that can say they know the worst case scenario for there pick is still good enough to start for years in thai draft.

Isn't a rich man's Tony Allen a pretty damn good player? I mean, Tony Allen just played major minutes in the conference finals.

And Tony Allen was pretty freaking electric before his knee injury.

Seeing Oladipo play, this guy has major superstar potential. He also could end up completely fizzling out. He's got freakish athleticism (think Stanley Robinson) with a pretty damn good shot. For the Magic...he'll get plenty of playing time.

The more I listen to the kid talk, the more convinced I am he has a chance to be a star. The fluidity in the way he moves on the basketball court is striking to me - I don't know if that's an actual thing NBA scouts account for in their evaluations, but there is something to be said for a guy who has a knack for getting to the rim and I think he's one of them.

Yeah, I think his work ethic is something that will really help him out too. He used to not be very good and last year he was one of college's best players. If he gets beaten down in the NBA, the question will be whether or not he can put in the work to get better...and I think right now that the answer is yes.

Cavs tried to trade it, but no one wanted it. No one was going to give a 14 first rounder to move up in this draft.

The Cavs were were treating it like there was a franchise player to be had in the draft. Offering it up to the Wolves and Trailblazers in separte deals for Kevin Love and Lamarcus Aldridge, there's nobody in this draft that will be better than those guys.

half the NBA teams will be tanking next year it will look really ugly

Go Celtics! Reverse the Duncan curse (not that there is much of one, but still...).

that means pierce wouldnt be a celtic, if you wanna get into what ifs lol

One of the great Celtics no doubt. Still rather have Duncan though.

Celts still got 1 championship and quite a few years of strong playoff performances. Many franchises would kill for that success.

Yeah, I'm not unhappy with PP and how it all worked out. I just know that Timmy is quite possibly the best Power Forward of all time.

Lets give an alternate history of that draft

Celtics get the pick, Get Timmay, and Pitino sticks it out and never ends up at Louisville. Louisville athletic department does not get the cache of having one of the 5 best coaches in college basketball there, still get into the Big East, but without all the pomp. Maybe the YUM never gets built and they stay at Freedom? With a lesser profile athletic department, football is not where it is now, and they do not get the invite to the ACC, and UConn does.

The Celtics are why UConn is where they are now.

Celts had a ridiculous run of sold out seasons with the highest ticket prices in the league. That's what they bought.
