Game 4 1978 Stanley Cup Finals - Bruins versus Canadiens in the Boston Garden.

The game is considered among the best Stanley Cup games ever with 14future Hall of Famer playing, 15 if you count Coach Scotty Bowman.  The Bruins were down two games to one to the Habs, and we're playing their in Boston, so it definitely had a must win feel about it.  Tied at the end of the first the Canadians took a 2-1 lead at the end of the second period.  The Bruins tied the game early in the third and then went ahead 3-2.  With time running out the Canadians pulled their goalie and tied the game.  With their backs against the wall the Bruins won it in overtime 4-3.  The Garden went crazy. A buddy of mine and I started chanting we are number one and it rapidly spread around the old garden for a deafening cheer. Pretty cool for a 17-year-old.

Outside, the streets were like a party, packed with people still cheering, high-fiving, hugging, etc. It was amazing.  Sadly, it was the high point of that season as the Canadians took the last two games 1-0, but it was an amazing moment in time.  Hockey was huge back in the 70s and the Bruins and the Habs had a great rivalry.
