I Think It's A Little Jinxy

Honestly, I have considered the possibility that Heckel will return to USC. Gracie Merkle changing her mind about Maryland is to blame; that just really planted the idea in my head.

That and It has just been awfully quiet around her. None of her suitors seem to be showcasing any kind of confidence about her arrival.

The quietness just could say more about Notre Dame than anything else. We know UConn can typically stay silent. If Notre Dame can as well, it is possible that no one has leaked the decision.

I don't think there is any reason to delay on announcing a return to USC. But we will see.

I'm of the opinion that she'll return to SC
I posted this on discord, along with the idea that maybe she picks Vandy or MSU, and the idea of her returning would be interesting, as of now, her only choices to go work out and shoot is in the rec center on canpus. I guess that makes sense if you have declared your intent to transfer, however I wonder how sticky of a situation it is to ask to return?

Stay calm, Boneyarders, remember almost everyone was going nuts that Sarah Strong was going everywhere else but UConn and she said UConn was her ONLY choice!
If Serah Williams was so impressed with her UConn visit that I'm betting the farm that Kayleigh Heckel saw the same things when they visited together!

ND hasn’t exactly been silent. Coach Ivie has indicated only that they have several “grad transfers” lined up, which would preclude Kayleigh Heckel as a possibility.

Beyond that, Irish fans have generally indicated their disappointment with the HC, the dearth of HS recruits over the past few seasons, the departure of Miles, Watson & Koval to the portal and a relatively average group of inbound transfers.

I do feel for our good friends from ND. It’s not a happy time for WBB in South Bend. There is real concern that the Irish could be looking at another season similar to 2019-2020, MM’s last season, when ND went 13-18.

Frankly, i was surprised Kayleigh decided to transfer in the first place given who was leaving. This led me to think there might be a deeper problem at USC, maybe in Lindsay’s locker room. Or maybe she didn’t want to be on a rebuilding team. Or maybe she just wanted to be closer to home.

Her reason for transferring would probably indicate where she’s going and I’m sure we’ve all rehearsed these. ND or Vandy look attractive in some scenarios. UConn looks attractive in others. Taking a long time to announce may also be an indicator.

At UConn she has a decent shot at winning at least one NC, if that’s a motivation. But it probably means playing behind/with KK for two seasons, and the rest of the roster looks very crowded. There were rumors that USC’s lineup had two tiers and was not fully open to competition for minutes. This might make her wary to choose UConn unless she’s confident in Geno’s reputation for hard-nosed fairness. She looks like she relishes competition.

I'm with you on that. If two visit and one says it was fantastic, etc., they why would the other one not feel the same thing?

No way!
It happens. Gracie Merkel the other day withdrew her name from the portal to stay at Penn State. When you're in the portal for a month or longer and don't feel strongly about another place, or more embarrassingly your market value isn't as high as you thought it was, you end up just staying put or going to some place out of left field that no one saw coming. Seems like the players that want to leave do it pretty quickly and have a plan (assuming no tampering).

I saw an article online yesterday (5/14) that I can't find again.... Fake?? I don't know, but it sure seemed real.

I thought I read somewhere she shaded USC on social media. Might be tough for team to take her back??
