* Herbst was busy preparing to get inaugurated this week.
* Big Friday-night football game on the tube, with the hoops Nat'l Champs being honored.
* The big news dropped about mid-third quarter of the game.

Pitt, 'Cuse and the ACC knew just how to play it.

Herbst is obviously a sharp lady and a savvy leader - I have a feeling she'll come through with a good solution for the school. Pendergast will keep the heavy hitters on board as well. But I'm convinced that they didn't see any of this coming at all...

UConn and CT are a small state. A solid and rabid fanbase but small just the same.

Obectively there are 10 teams ahead of UConn in the expansion sweepstakes

If there are only 8 slots it gets ugly.

If there are only 10 slots and the ACC stops at 14 it gets ugly.

12 slots and UConn has a fighting chance.
