One win in BE tournament doesn't get it done. A loss to either Pitt or PC, and they will have to win the BE tournament.

They just don't have enough solid wins, and don't have any since very early in the season. Doesn't really matter what their rpi or sos is, that is only a small part of the equation.

Think if they lose one of the next 2 they need 2 wins in the BE tourney............just a hunch they're solid enough for that......but let's be honest if they can't find a way to win the next 2, 2 wins in the BE won't be easy at all........we will find out how tough these kids are and how much they really want it starting Tuesday (looked like a team that wanted it in thelast 12 inutes last night)

At least Cbs admits Roscoe got fouled. Also Fair pretty much admits he fouled him with his quote "I think I made a good play" with a smile

I don't, author writing his own rules

teams seeded 8 through 12 are seeded their because they all have weaknesses in their resume

it's not UConn vs the Cloud, it's UConn vs other teams with holes in their resume

win the next two, they're a lock

better not open themselves up to trying to get in with losing record in conference

it won't end well

"win the next two, they're a lock
WINNING"

Yep willie has it........

I don't agree. In that scenario, losing in the first round of the BE tourney puts them squarely on the bubble.

Again people aren't looking at the other teams on the bubble. You have to find all these at large teams. We win 2 games, and then 1 in the BET, we're in. I think even if we win 2 games this week we are probably in. Look at the resumes of other teams we are competing against. We have a better RPI, the No. 1 SOS in the country, and a ton of Top 50 RPI wins. It may not be pretty, but win 2, and we're in.

jorge I hope we can see...lol............actually rather win the last 2 and 1st one in the BE and it's over for sure......

But BField and willie are right I believe.....9-9 in the BE and the wins vs Top 50 are very good.......nailbiting last week plus for sure

I'm convinced that over half of the posters on this board pay absolutely no attention to the rest of college basketball. They just look at UConn in a vacuum.

Right now Lunardi has teams like Southern Miss, BYU, Arizona, West Virginia, St. Josephs, Northwestern, Texas, and Xavier in the field.

Is there some feud between Burr and Blaney? George doesn't get even remotely a fair shake from Burr? It is ridiculous!!

Except the Committee doesn't even consider conference record in their evaluation. Every team is considered an independent. Confirmed by the Committee Chairman himself

There are teams on the bubble with 0 or 1 top 50 wins. We have 6.

hence my observation that people seem to think it UConn vs "the cloud"

The headline really isn't that controversial. All we need to do is avoid a bad loss between now and Selection Sunday. Although I think that if we win out, we're not going to play on Tuesday, but will play a win-and-in game in the 8-9 against Seton Hall or WVU on Wednesday.

If we make it to the BET quarters, we are a stone cold lock. If we lose on Wednesday, we're still on the bubble, but probably on the right side of the bubble unless the teams beneath us win a bunch of games and/or the bubble shrinks because good mid-majors (e.g. Murray State) don't win their tournaments. If we lose on Tuesday, we'll have gone at best 1-2 down the stretch, adding two more bad losses to our resume and condemning us to the NIT.

UConn has a ton of wiggle room. The bubble is awful.

the NCAA is out to get Uconn, remember?? They had better win both remaining games and a couple in the BE tourney to be safe.

Hard to give someone a fair shake when they are invisible or mute. Remember the squeaky wheel gets oiled phrase? Even I barely noticed him, especially in the 1st half when we were hemorrhaging. He might just be one of the best halftime locker room coaches in the country though.

Anyone who agrees with that "article" is a moron. Win the next two and they are in, done deal.

So you think only a 6-1 record to end the season gets them in? It will take 23-12 for the Huskies to go dancing?

Seems very farfetched.

I say 20-12 gets them in.

I think they could get in with wins @PC and v. Pitt, and then a BET loss if they are the 8 seed.

Let's hope they don't do that, though.

What "article"??

Yes, this statement is quasi illiterate: "Then it's a first-round game in the Big East tournament against a fellow conference doormat."

I suppose it refers to doormats like Pitt and PC but if you know the English language, it really says that UConn is a BE doormat.
