I think he has liked UConn for a long time. We've been it for him for a long time. He would be a great surprise come signing day. Look at how we've targeted nyc games. The rent will be filled with all their families. Hoping he shocks us.

i would do a lot of bad things to get a verbal commit from laray smith. kid is a speedster and those type of prospects dont come these parts of the woods very often. hes the type of kid on the roster that in big games is a game changer.

The fact that he didn't lock up Indiana after the late visit allows for us to believe that there is still a chance. He's gotta be having an internal battle going on right now over whether to go to Indiana for their track team process and play in football hell, or to play on a solid track team and a good football team the next state over. Obviously, I know what my choice would be...

Dead period started yesterday and continues through the 8th.

I know the commit can call anytime but after the LOI is sent the coaches can't call them for a few days after the kid signs? Doesn't make sense.

Oh wait....NCAA.....nevermind....now I get it.

If I had to make picks, I'd go Augustus Edwards to Florida State and Laray Smith to UConn.

If it's a dead period how did Missouri offer a Cuse commit 2 hours ago?

Well, then I choose to believe that Zach Braziller is the one that knows what the hell he's talking about and that Thanasis is a friggin' joker...

It's actually Feb 4-7 dead period. Coaches can get around it by calling high school coach to relay a message to kid about late offer, etc.

Kids can call coaches anytime.

Google the dead period. I can't link with my tablet.

It is a dead period from 2/4 to 2/7:

Dead Period. A period when it is not permissible to make in-person recruiting contacts or evaluations on or off-campus or to permit official or unofficial visits by PSAs to campus.

That makes it sound like phone calls are ok then.

Wondered how you couldn't call a kid after he faxes his LOI.

Nothing so far on Laray. Every minute he's not committed to IU can't be bad for us. I hope. ;)
