I really hope Mullins comes back

If we won last night more likely he goes.
Lose last night...I think we got a shot....something else for him to shoot at.

.-.
Mullins right now will be a late first round pick at best. With NIL, it be great if he comes back one more year. It will be beneficial for him to have another year to develop in college vs sitting on the bench in the NBA.

He needs to get a lot better on defense and shoot more consistently in games.

Here we go again. He isn’t ready? Says who. Braylon was playing at less than 100% all season in a system that spreads the ball around. He is an elite shooter who has underrated aspects to his game. Gm’s will fall in love with him.

Yeah, you can see the talent there, and throughout the season I was waiting for him to break out and show some consistent results to prove out people calling him a mid first round pick, but I didn't see it. He will have to be a really good shooter to stay in the NBA. The stats don't lie, he wasn't a great three point shooter in college. This tournament was his chance to show out, and it didn't work out. He's a decent defender, handle is pretty good but not great, and his mid-range game is very good. Does that add up to an NBA late first rounder?

There's no question to me that if he did come back, (which seems unlikely) and shot 40% from 3 next year and slightly improved other areas of his game he would be an upper half of first round guy.

I don't buy that explanation. He wasn't 100% in the second half of the season? 33% is NOT an elite three point shooter.

Who says he’s ready? Says who? What tells you he’s an elite shooter? His 4-17 last night? 33% from 3 on the year? That’s elite?
You really are insufferable. It's "fans" like you that give us a bad reputation.
Surprised you haven't already brought up your Castle vs Lendeborg comparison, which is about the dumbest thing I've ever read on here.

You don’t know ball and/or you’re a troll, but I’ll provide an honest reply even though your posts rarely deserve it.

Of course he is ready, the point of drafting most one-and-done freshmen is you take what they flash in college and develop them into the pro potential they’ve got.

He’s in a great position where there’s no wrong choice and I’m sure his people who’ll help guide him to make the best choice for him once more information comes in about his draft projection.

He's not reasy
You think NBA teams want completely polished players that have nothing much to improve in their game to draft? It's all about upside and youth. There's a reason 4 year seniors rarely get drafted in the lottery anymore.
This is not breaking news, if you follow basketball you should know about this.

The NBA draft is all about potential. And Mullins showed more than enough potential throughout the season. It would be a shock -albeit a pleasant one- if he comes back. Luckily, it’s now a long, long process with tons of time for him to make the best decision for himself and his basketball life.

You are a genius. He played hurt and never fully healed which impacted his shot . Anyone who knows anything about basketball will say his release and the quickness of it is elite.

If he’s a projected lottery pick, he should go pro without a second thought

Beyond that, I’m not sure. He’s a much better three point shooter than 33.5% but that’s what he shot. He’s bouncy and a good rebounder. Not much in terms of defending or playmaking. Definitely high potential

Without a lottery promise, I think he’d benefit from another year here. Get stronger and prove he can be an efficient scorer. As we learned with Hawkins/Liam, the NBA leash is short. If you don’t produce right away, you might get buried. I’m not sure Braylon is ready to produce right away in the NBA

But that means he’s stuck between a really good and a really really good option. Great position to be in

As stated above, the NBA drafts on potential and youth. The real question is does Braylon want to sit on an NBA bench(or play in the G League) for a year for more money or does he want to play in college for NIL level money. He is ready to be drafted, but he might not be ready to play meaningful minutes in NBA games. He could get stronger and work on his game in both scenarios. He just has to decide where he wants to do it for the next year. Love Braylon and hope he comes back. Whatever he chooses I will always root for him and be grateful for the amazing moments he gave us.

If you are guaranteed to be a 1st round pick, you go. Period. Full stop.

I remember some on this board saying Thabeet needed to come back and he was drafted 2nd. Made 17m dollars over 5 years (probably 30m in today’s money) and changed his life forever.

Players drafted in the first round can improve in the G league playing against other pros while making several million dollars. Some people seem to think Braylon will be better prepared for the league by putting up 25pts against DePaul in December.

I think it could be very valuable for him to play a season as a #1 option…developing the skills to create his own shot, create for others, and learning to handle the ball better in pressure situations could be great for him long term. Otherwise, he’s in a Hawkins situation where he’s only playable in the nba if he’s shooting a good percentage from 3.

However, he is a first round talent so he’s probably gone. We shouldn’t act surprised when he declares.

Well yeah don’t we all. I can’t see it already seen his worth on the defense even against Michigan. Of course he’s distraught every 1 and done is after their last game, then you wait at least a week and your not making an emotional decision.

However if by some luck he did come back he could really emerge as the vocal leader take what he learned from AK. Could really work with Ray Allen too make that next step in his game and hone his craft.

Hes not ready

The calculus has changed dramatically with NIL.

Liam just barely snuck into the first round and spent the season in the G League and in my opinion he had a more NBA body and game.

I'm not one to say someone 'needs' to come back but I think there is something to be said about developing in real live game situations where you're a bigger fish in a smaller pond.
