I would sign up for a backcourt of Silas, Solo, and Braylon again in a heartbeat.

I want to agree but for much of the season the combo of Ball and Mullins was very ineffective. Similar strengths and similar weaknesses. Both fairly undersized for their positions. Often times as soon as Ross would come in for one of them, we’d go on a run and then when they were back on the court together the other team would go on a run.

I love both guys and if Dan Hurley goes into next season starting them both, I can get on board. We’d need a big 4 man though who can defend and rebound.

Hurley kinda with a reality check in the DP interview around his current players - yeah ur getting recruited to leave but we also have guys asking to come in. Basically said they are debating on building best team they can year to year or staying their course and only supplementing with portal.

Should be interesting. Time are changing fast. Buckle your seat belt - could be an entirely new team. AK may be taking his glue with him.

Implied in that statement, "building best team year to year," doesnt mean that staying the course would mean choosing loyalty over success. I think what he means is that he has to decide if we will be more successful with UConn system guys or taking a gamble on the better player "on paper"
As we know, many higher profile transfers bite it.

Either way, as a fan, and I love the term you used for MU, 'plastic teams' wouldn't give me the satisfaction. If we won like MU did, it would be a distant 7th place of all my fave natty teams.

Box office is right.

A) he's a stud, will only get better. He can shoot the * out of the ball. Also he was hurt to start last season, that certainly impacted his season.

B) literally everyone knows who he is. He will be the main guy in college basketball and his play will back it up when hes pulling up from 30ft to swish threes.

Hurley spoke on Dan Patrick as if he already heard from NBA circles that Mullins may not be as high a projected pick as some of us may think.
While they can’t be competitive with top 15 money, they can with end of first round money

15th pick in the draft is fully guaranteed the first two years which is $9.5 million. I think what most people on the board think Braylon more likely to be going near end of the first round. The 30th pick is only guaranteed $5.62 million over 2 years.

That means he thinks that through rev share and NIL that a player like Mullins can make more than $4M in a single season at UConn. That's much higher than I thought possible.

All three of those guys can shoot, Silas just had lower volume. It wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world to pair them with a four that’s a little beefier and can work inside. And if a perimeter shooter is needed, Stewart can work those minutes, with Ross as a glue guy.

They need to target a big ball-distributing PG in the portal. A guy who can split time with Silas. Aim for Tristan Newton. Settle for a notch below. Reap the rewards.

No offense but this is a stupid post. Mullins is 6’6’ and is extremely athletic. Ball was injured all season but played through it. For the championship game his foot was shot up with painkillers.

So with today's interviews its clear that Hurley thinks he should come back, which means the direct intel he's received indicates that Mullins isn't the lottery pick that some of y'all keep insisting he is based on outdated, meaningless mock drafts.
