I 'm not sure if this has been posted but I thought Kiah was great. She seems really grounded and you can really tell that she finally "gets it". I hope she has a great senior year.
" sometimes our fans are on the older side" .....Lol ! I love that kid !

HUSK: appreciated. Thought that interviewer did a VERY nice job, too....William Richardson. And I bet Kiah can cover a WHOLE lotta board on that ping pong table, eh?

She does have a huge wing span. Just look at how broad her shoulders are under the hoodie. I wonder how close her wing span is to Stewie's....I foresee another block party next season!

Kiah is a great kid and I think she'll surprise everyone with her play in her senior year. Think she will be a high WNBA pick.

THAT was a GREAT interview! From both parties! Is William Richardson a student? I thought that he looked very comfortable in that role, and had some great questions for Kiah. It was nice to see Kiah so relaxed, and smiling. Love that kid!

Forgive me for repeating these stats from an earlier thread. Consider the following about Kiah's play this past year:
1. She had more offensive rebounds than Stef (90 vs 84) in 569 FEWER minutes (1,292 vs 723). ;)
2. Kiah had 89 blocked shots in those 723 minutes. Stef had 93, but again played many more minutes.
3. Stokes shot 60% from the field (69-115) and 70% from the free throw line (37-53).
4. She had 278 total rebounds or one rebound every 2.6 minutes she was on the court. (Stef was 3.48 and Stewie was 3.76)
5. Getting 350-450 additional minutes will improve her confidence, statistics and comfort level w/ the UConn offense.
6. Her shooting accuracy, additional offensive rebounds and added free throw shooting should all help Kiah average 8-12 pts/game, IMO.

There is a ton of offense around Kiah. Stewie will no doubt get most of the defensive attention. KML and Courtney Ekmark are 3 pt gunners. MoJeff led the team in 3 pt accuracy at 41.8% (33-79). Saniya Chong and Kia Nurse are potent outside shooters. Morgan Tuck, if healthy, is a beast in the paint. Gabby Williams, if healthy, can jump over the back board. MoJeff, Brianna Banks and Sadie Edwards can all drive the lane. How do you cover everybody? You don't. Look for Kiah to get some open shots, tons of rebounds and more free throws. And that is just on offense... In short, a breakout year... Go Kiah..!!

That's 11 players on the floor at once. Of course they can't all be covered.

Thanks HuskyPup!.........really enjoyed it.

I believe, next year, Kiah will be a force on BOTH ends of the court.

We’ve all seen the fantastic skills Kiah has on the defensive side of the floor. She’s like a vacuum cleaner on the boards, with great timing and ability to block shots and a nose for where the ball is, and where it’s going to be, as it comes off the rim (and she goes and gets it, like nobody else!).

Next season Kiah will be a senior. Her comfort level with Geno’s offensive system will be at it’s highest. I believe Kiah will take the bull by the horns, realizing, as a starter, she has a greater responsibility to be more consistently productive, on the offensive side of the ball, both as a scorer and a facilitator. And it won’t hurt Kiah’s mind set to know she’ll have four teammates around her who can put the ball through the hoop too!

Funny, you don't seem to have any likes for this from our regular opposing fans on the board. ;)

Funny. There is a disclaimer at the opening that says that some viewers may find the content offensive. Given that the content is about Kiah, they should have added to the disclaimer that some viewers may find the content defensive too.

Makes me hope for November already although we are about to hit May, and the weather still feels like it might be November. Reporter asked some good questions.

Unlike early her first year, Kiah is an integral part of the team, both on and off the court. I love this kid!

I'd guess she will be one of the players who participate in the post-game pressers. Feels like she is ready to break out as a leader. Obviously, Geno has a special relationship with Bria/Stef. Will be interesting to see how his relationship evolves with senior Kiah. We shall see.

I know that there are places in Connecticut where you have to drive 45 minutes (one way) to get a pizza. I used to live very near Storrs, and yes it is isolated but it sure is beautiful country.

This is a brilliant interview. Thank you for posting.

I admire and respect Kiah Stokes. She is one heckuva athlete. She has stuck it out for 3 years coming off the bench. We saw a lot of glimpses of where her talent is going to lead her. I believe she is going to have some "wow" moments her senior year. I also think she will be a 1st round draft choice in the WNBA next year.

Next year is your year Kiah !
