I just got home. The roads were awful. I saw at least 30 cars off the side of the highway. I hope everyone is ok.

My ride home from Gampel to Stamford was the hardest drive I ever had. The roads were not plowed or salted on any part. Not sure which was worse the icy part of the road or the snow packed part. One car was in a hurry and passed me but 30 secs later when the car did 540 spin (1 1/2 spin) I passed it. I did see plows on the opposite side but nothing going south. Just happy to be home.

I could not agree with you more. I drove from Storrs to West Hartford (drop off friends) and then to West Haven. So many cars stuck. I do not have a 4x4 so it was tough. Took me 3hrs to get home. Hope everyone is ok

It was definitely NOT a fun ride from Gampel to Newington last night. Thankful I didn't have to go any further. All the plows I saw were on the OTHER side of the highway (naturally). Hope everyone made it safely home.

Wonder if the Tar Heels got out of town?

Lousy conditions for sure and how folks chose to drive increased the difficulty. On this end, VERY happy I invested in FOUR really good snow tires.

Nothing to do with the game, but my nephew (17) who lives with us was out at a meeting and we decided to invite the 2 girls who drove him home here to Hamden from New Haven to stay over night, which they did. They were very happy to accept because the roads were so bad.

I guess we can add another sort of "law" to the one by Murphy. For example:
  • The other checkout line is faster.
  • All the snowplows are on the other side of the highway.
  • [Your turn, 'Yarders]

I can't imagine any storm severe enough to prevent Coach Hatchell from getting out of Connecticut last night. She would have overcome a tsunami if need be.
