I guess we can finally concede the committee got it right

I feel bad for Ohio State fans who have nothing better to do than post on a UConn message board. We all find things to be sympathetic about I guess.

Message boards are message boards. You choosing to waste your time on your favorite team's message board isn't really any different than me doing it on another. I'm going to assume by the red herring that you lack an intellectual, tangible point in response to the actual topic, or else you'd have led with it.

TCU was rated 3rd going into the last week and did nothing to warrant a 2 spot drop. And then rolled a team who beat Alabama in a laugher. They didn't get it right!

An Oregon TCU game would have been one for the ages!
Its all about the money. There is no way they were not going to cook the outcome so the major media conferences were represented. Had to take a Pac10, Big12, SEC and a Florida team. TCU should have been a candidate, but they don't bring the dollars. They have to take at least 8 teams to a playoff. At least there will be room for non-media market contenders. Otherwise we will see the same mix pretty much year over year.

It actually is quite different.

I thought Ohio State deserved to be one of the four and said that multiple times. I just found your need to defend Ohio State's selection on a UConn message board to be especially pathetic.

Lecturing UConn fans that they are allowing bitterness to ruin their chance to enjoy Ohio State.... what a collossal .

Chill out whaler. Kyleslamb has always been a decent visitor here.

Ohio State outplayed Alabama in every facet last night while starting their third string quarterback. I'm not a Meyer or Ohio State fan but they did take it to Bama, give credit where it is due.

The biggest problem with the committee was releasing rankings every week. Ratings wise, they were a hit, but people never got that they re-evaluated the entire body of work each week. TCU didn't do something in the final week to "drop" two spots. When it came down to decision time, Ohio State had a hair better body of work. That's it. If anything their biggest question was having TCU at 3 that prior week. Regardless, 4 to 5 is always going to be splitting hairs. Sucks for TCU this year, but... Be better.

They outgained 'Bama by well over 100 yards... at one point having a 438-150 advantage. I'd call that taking it to them and not think twice about that categorization. Heck, I don't think I've seen a single person that watched the game come away thinking Alabama looked like a better team.

Pretty sure you won't find anyone that will say "Alabama was out of this game" either? Try to read that again - "They were never out of it". Were they?

No way you give teams a bye if and when they go to 8. Having to step up and win just like in the NCAA hoop tourney is what will draw the viewers and why the first true playoff Final 4 went so well. No one ever really knew who was the best team many times in the past because they were anointed. The SEC was always the best conference even though they never play away games up North. The game can't be rigged anymore. Hoorah!

Where is it written that 'taking it to' (Bama) and Bama 'still being in the game' are mutually exclusive?
