But the season brings maddening language of its own: Rebecca and Kara and a whole host of others using the phrase "score the ball", even analysts who get paid to say Team X has to score to have a chance against Y. 'Course, the compensating benefits - real games - are great.

They also have to "compete". Aarrgghh!

I hear you, but why are we racing to embrace the dumbing down of everything? Is it that sports, jazzy cool to say "score the ball." Next it will not be excuse me, I have to visit the powder room, but excuse me I have to go score...oh never mind.

I have been led to believe that a LOT of scoring, of various kinds, takes place in powder rooms.
