I'm sure the Horde will have access to the team this week with the first exhibition game on Friday. The team has been practicing less than 2 weeks, and First Night was just 10 days ago. We'll have plenty of news soon enough.

I agree DD. I know much more about what other teams have been up to and how they're performing than I do Uconn. Maybe Geno and CD are installing a top secret offense or defense.

Probably because most other teams started practice a full 2 weeks or more before UConn started. Geno has yet to take advantage of the rule allowing an earlier start to practice and this year is no exception.

Maybe, but there is next to NO news about WCBB on ESPN either; rather the same dreary headlines, day in day out. Is ANYTHING happening out there? Predictions, practice news, coaches talking about expectations....anything?

I think another part of it is that almost all the recruiting news happened very early with the 2014 class - there are so few top 50 recruits that decided after the beginning of August that the standard off-season fare was already digested. And Uconn having dropped all interest in all but Nurse and Wilson meant that the few scraps were of less interest to us or the hoard.
I also have to say our boneyard brethren have been woefully inadequate with their visits to practice - one measly practice report is all I remember and that was preseason pick-up!

If I understand correctly, the other teams don't get any "extra" practice, it is just more spread out. As such, it may not be conducive to his style of coaching. And in some ways, I think it may be more disruptive to the student athlete, although of course they are participating in various other basketball related activities even before.

I hope that Geno is in his usual rare form on his first rado show tonight at 6 on WTIC. Really would like to hear some news and updates before next week's exhibition games.....But, on the other hand, no news means nothing unusual or bad has happened (fingers crossed to avoid bad mojo....). Can't wait for the season to officially start!!!
