I am a coward

My wife and I disagree on this one, and it was a topic of conversation over coffee this morning.

If I'm not able to watch a game live, so I know the results, I still almost always watch the game later on, if for no other reason to assess for myself how individual players did.

On the other hand, I never ever tire of watching reruns of our defeating Notre Dame for the championship!

Will you peek at the result of the game prior to watching it?

If you peek, is there really a need to watch the game on Saturday?

If peek at the result, does the monitor jump just at the peek, or do you actually have to watch the game?

If you watch the replay...after you peek...will you still skyrocket?

If you don't peek & watch the replay, won't the same skyrocketing happen on the monitor?

LOTS TO THINK ABOUT, GUY.

Why don't you just watch it live, take in the aura and excitement of the final four game and watch them win.
I always peek at the final score to decide if I am going keep or delete.
If I watch the recording it is less stressful because I know the outcome, so my Glucose levels do not skyrocket due to stress.
TMI: my Glucose levels tend to skyrocket when I am driving to a doctor's appointment too.

Exactly!!!

OMG! It is 1/2 way through the 2nd period, and for the first time ever, I am jittery and breathing fast!................I never should have read these comments before the game started.

I'm watching though I want to turn it off right now with Sue and DT running there mouths alongside the game. ESPN is so incredibly dumb. At least they aren't drunk this year. Off goes the volume.

I have watched every conference game live because I had no way to record the overwhelming majority of them and could never figure out how to do stuff (mainly ff and rewind) watching replays on the Fox Sports App.
For OOC games I will usually watch home games live and record the road games. I too try to avoid seeing the scores until the game is in the 4th quarter or over.
For the Dance, I watch the first 3 rounds live and usually record the remaining rounds.
If UConn lost any games I recorded, I will most likely delete the game and read the Postgame thread. This season I recorded the USC XL Center home game but did watch the recording.
When we win, I will watch the recorded game asap.
I did peak at this year's game at SoCar and it happened to be halftime. Yay. Once the game was over, I read the Postgame thread before watching my recording.
Now my reasoning for recording the games is because for the past few seasons I have been using a Continuous Glucose Monitor and have noticed that my Glucose levels skyrocketed while watching the games live. It takes a couple of hours to manage my Glucose levels after I stop watching. So....
I will record the Final Four game tomorrow and watch the replay either after the game is over or Saturday morning.
Centerstream...your Glucose levels shouldn't peak on Saturday!!

Exactly!!!
I did not watch the game and never checked the score. When I looked at it on the ESPN app, it had just gone final, the Gamecast indicated 18 seconds left and then went final.
AND my Glucose is skyrocketing.:eek:

Why would my wife accept an invitation from friends for dinner on a Friday night when the women's Final Four is being played?
It's probably for the best. At least you got to watch the game in peace.

I watched the first game on ESPN 2 and it didn't take long to get bored with Sue and DT talking about everything except the game.. I went to.thee main broadcast for.the UConn game which was somewhat better than Sue and DT.amd somewhat worse than turning the.volime.off.

I.saw.on.the promo for the Sue and DT UConn game show that Stewie would be a guest. Stewie probably couldn't say.no but the poor girl missed a large chunk of the game.

When my kids were younger it would infuriate me that the Girl Scouts would always schedule a Father-Daughter dinner during the final four. After a couple of years, I became convinced they did this on purpose. Sort of like the evil empire striking back (take that you rat). One year, me and 4 or 5 other fathers were in the kitchen watching the closing minutes of a UConn men's game on TV.

I like the radio broadcast, and if things are going well, like last night, I go to the TV with the sound off and pace until it’s over. Even if it’s a blowout. Plus, Ryan and Rebecca are the least annoying of all the possible announcers If I listen. Not a Holly fan though.

Well, I'm in trouble. The championship game (for me, my time) is at 22:00, which means I either watch and suffer (or not??), or not watch but check the score every couple of minutes and unable to do or focus on anything else.

What do you have to focus on, other than the game, after 10PM? Sleeping???

Connecticut was nice enough to jump out to a big early lead and make it a much less stressful game. Hoping for a similar outcome Sunday afternoon.
Agreed! I was mildly anxious through 3 Q (the lead can never be big enough) but relaxed at the start of the 4th figuring it would take UConn turning into zombies for UCLA to win.

I was nervously chill last night. Normally, I sit in three different spots, pace, stand in front of the tv, and sweat like crazy. Last night it felt different. Once we got a 10 pt lead in the 1Q, I felt eerily calm, and the team did not let up. It was not another game like USC.
