Coach P. talking about Chelsea Gray:

"I do think her passing is more extraordinary than any other guard I've seen in the women's game," McCallie said.

I have seen Gray make certain types of passes that I have not seen any other female player make. And I have watched a lot of basketball over the years.

Sue and Dawn were good passers with good vision, but not the innate ability to see the court three or four plays ahead the way Chelsea does. Very few players see the court the ways she does. Taurasi is at the top of the list, as she, in my opinion, is the best all-time in that regard.

Actually, cam, Taurasi has said essentially the same thing of Sue.

She also said the same thing of Toliver after an exhibition game against Maryland when DT was with the US National Team. In the same week, she said the same thing about Renee Montgomery.

Maybe they all do.

Or maybe Diana was having fun with the media (especially when she gets asked some of the same questions over and over), like she usually does. See Dockett, Darnell. :)

The episode I remember Diana saying this of Sue was when they were still playing together in Russia.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Gray play in person.

This reminds me of my playing days in UConn's intramural league when the guys on my team often said that I could read plays better than anyone in the league. I was a bit of a Shakespeare and Tennessee Williams scholar, and my books were never far from my side on my typical spot on the pines. The guys were totally in awe. I especially liked The Glass Menagerie.

Notice Diana never says it about herself, even though in terms of seeing the court/game, she is the best in the world right now.

-You’re a brave man to think you’re at liberty to praise Tennessee here!
- It’s something unspoken! Its outrageous! And austere! Where’s the outcry?!

No doubt. Diana even sees where players should be and wills them there.

This was Memphis Tennessee Williams. I would never read anything written by Knoxville Tennessee Williams, who wrote the famous play The Menagerie.

Sorry, I take Courtney Vandersloot over Gray any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Gray is a good player especially for a freshmen and plays a key role in Duke's success.

I can understand it in chess, but how does one see 3 or 4 plays ahead in BB?
