Something to amuse us during the off season. I've concocted 4 teams from the Wall of Honor players (and added in a couple to get to 4 teams). Tried to make them as even as possible, we'll see how I did (see how hard it is for you). All you have to do is list them top to bottom, best to worst, if they had to play each other.

And here they are in no particular order (or color).

Team Silver -
Moriah Jefferson 5-7
Bria Hartley 5-9
Maya Moore 6-0
Ashja Jones 6-2
Stephanie Dolson 6-5

Team Red -
Sue Bird 5-10
Shea Ralph 6-0
Svetlana Abrosimova 6-2
Kerry Bascom 6-1
Tina Charles 6-4

Team White -
Jen Rizzotti 5-7
Diana Taurasi 6-0
Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis 5-11
Swin Cash 6-2
Rebecca Lobo 6-4

Team Blue -
Renee Montgomery 5-8
Nykesha Sales 6-0
Morgan Tuck 6-2
Breanna Stewart 6-4
Kara Wolters 6-7

Have at it.

With Jen, Diana, and KML, the extra pass would be made over and over again. If one of that trio is open from behind the arc, she's going to hit the trey. And if the the fate of the known universe depends on the game being won, D's hitting the winning shot. Team White it is...

All teams have plenty of offense and defense. Each team would end up 2-1. :D

Team Blue none of the others can match up to that front line.

And Team White is a little weak in the frontcourt. 'Course, college basketball is a guard's game.
Team White has a NPOY and Swin Cash in their front court. No true 5, but bring it!

Team RED takes it (if all healthy of course =D)

I'd like to see Swin on that team tho and it's juggernaut

This was extremely tough.

I eliminate Team Blue. Too many scorers. None of them specialize in passing. And this team is not a very good offensive rebounding team. There all big time scorers. There is size the paint offensively and defensively but the other teams are all time great too and they have shooters that can score a lot from the outside. I'm not in love with the makeup of this team. To each his own. But I am in love with the players.

Next team I eliminate is Team Red. Reluctantly. I just never saw Kerry play so I have a bias. Potentially Team Red's offense could be best because of Kerry. She is physical and can score from what I understand. I assume she can handle the ball well which makes her extremely tough. But her assists vs. turnovers aren't very good. I'm not sold that their defense can hold vs any of the opponents so I think this team is 3rd or 4th.

The matchup here incredible. Putting DT with KML is brilliant. All the matchups here incredible. In the fake matchup DT has to play Maya. And vice-versa. I'm bias I like passing though and overall I think Team Silver passes better though it's so odd because DT is so amazing passing and Lobo has better assist to turnovers and shoots better 3 ball better than Stef- and from back then - that is amazing. But in this case I'm going to break pattern because I think DT can control tempo and KML will have size to get off her shot and the inside of Team White is too quick. Lobo hitting 35% from three is tremendous for back then which they can open the floor for Cash vs Jones. Wow- Cash vs Jones. The two sisters power vs finesse. I give edge to Team White.

Of course these all can switch depending on the bench. But 5 on 5 I go with Team White.

But can Swin guard Stewie? The matchup I'd like to see is Lobo vs. Stewie--6'4" and long vs. 6'4" and longer.

With Bird,Ralph and Sveta the 2000 NC embarrassed Tenn. The 2001 team IMO was the best team ever at UConn! The 2002 NC were definitely the best starting 5 ever in WCBB history not just Connecticut! The depth the 2001 team had was incredible!
With Charles at center with those 3 that is tough to beat! Now add Bascom, she could score on anybody!Geno put her there with DTas for taking the last shot!I saw them play that year a few times and with her on this team Red wins all 3!

My first take on this was ---What BS----are we speaking of them, at there respective ages, against each other today?? Poor Sveta would be sucking air. So I have no comment on who should play whom. After reading the comments --- which by themselves were interesting , the exercise had some, not great, merit. But look where it came from!!

Can Renee or Nykesha guard Diana?
Renee, I would say no. DT would post her up and get the and-1. Nykesha...not sure but I bet she would do as good as job on her as anyone.

Put me down for Red. Best balance between frontcourt and backcourt. And that's a hellacious backcourt. (in the good sense of the word hellacious...)

I saw a preseason game when DT was still at UCONN. Sales was on the all star team they were playing and she couldn't guard Diana. Not even close - DT just schooled her. Nykesha was always one of my favorite players. I really felt bad for her, but no way I could rationalize this - she just didn't measure up.

OK. Wonder how Shea would do.

Dunno - they might kill each other. Shea doesn't like to lose. But you bring whoever you want - my money will be on DT ("Hey Shea - that's my hook shot.")

OK, I'll bring Kelly Faris off the bench.
