Don't need to watch the video to remember that play clearly. First, the game was far from over when Reyes made that play. Second, that game was the day after WVU beat Pitt, which meant we controlled our own destiny to a big time bowl by beating Cincy at home and then at USF the next week. But what I remember about the play is that Cincy had a really good receiver running the play down from the other side, and 'Bama Wilson was escorting Reyes the whole way pointing at the Cincy player and presumably mouthing off that 'Bama wasn't letting him get anywhere near Reyes. Which, unfortunately ended with Wilson getting called for a totally unnecessary penalty bringing back the TD. IIRC, we scored off the penalty anyway.

Ive seen that play a million times. That was a block in the side, not the back. Lousy call...imo. That dude was looking right at Bama when he hit him.

Wlison's right hand is clearly on the Peat's (?) numbers. It's a block in the back.

I had a great view of that play and let’s just say there was zero need for any kind of contact. If it was from the side it wasn’t so obvious that it was a bad call. I thought right away what the bleep is he doing?

He had been planning to block that guy for 50 yeards, well before he knew it wouldn't be needed. Just couldn't change his plan.

I remember telling my son when the flag went in the air "You can't call that penalty. Not when a 300 lb linemen is running 80+ yards for a touchdown."

At best that was a vlean block. At worst it was a ticky-tack call and should have been overlooked.

By the way, after the game my son told Kendall what I said and Kendall laughed about it. Beyond being an outstanding player for us Kendall is even a better person.
