Husky history: It’s late, it’s Tate, it’s great

Such an amazing turn of events. We were up 19 with 12 minutes to go in the second half and then completely choked away the lead. That would have been such a horrendous loss and setback for the program, and instead, the dream continued. I was 10 years old and remember just being in total shock when the shot went in. Still am, actually.

This is the play that taught me to never give up on the team. I was a kid at the time, and went upstairs before the shot bc I was so upset. Then…I heard my family screaming at the tv. I learned how much time 1 second could be that night, and that a close game can still be won

I'll always remember where i was for this one.... my wife and I were at her co-worker's house with their friends. I didn't know anyone except her co-worker. We got the big lead in the 2nd half and us guys started chatting more and kinda half paying attention as the lead dwindled away. Then it looked like we had blown it. After Tate's shot we were in a big circle hugging jumping up and down like old buddies. Driving home was the first time I heard the "That's what I like about UConn" song on the radio. Great timing.

My buddy beerfan was somewhere behind the UConn bench and told me Gov. O'Neill left somewhere after the big lead and missed all the excitement.
