Part of the rationale behind my lineup is going with the best 1-2 combo and best 3-4 combo we ever got to see play together. Nobody could sink the dagger quite like Rashad Anderson and few guys were better at finding the open man than Marcus Williams. Richard Hamilton gives the lineup one of the best mid-range shooters I've ever seen and Kevin Freeman brings to the table the tough and gritty performances of a classic power forward. As for Hilton Armstrong... Thabeet, Drummond, and Okafor were already taken. Still, senior year Hilton Armstrong was a formidable shot blocker and had a very good shooting touch for a big.

Not sure how anyone can put Joobers team ahead of Kembas.
PG - Williams better passer, AJ better scorer, better defender - I'd call it a wash
SG - Rip big advantage - well huge
SF - While Rashad was a deadly three point specialist, DB had a better handle, better defense, good three point shooter, better all around game (that's why he started) - Decent advantage DB
SF - wash
C - Emeka huge over Hilton - better offense, better defense on an already better defensive team - takes some of Rip's game away - big advantage Emeka

Emeka and DBs advantage over RIPs advantage - done deal. Cannot see the lean in the voting at all.

Both are great matchups. Really tough choices here.

I think Marcus teamed with Rip and Rashad is a deadly combo, but you are right Emeka would do whatever he wanted against Hilton. Could go either way on this one. I'm giving a very slight edge to Joober.

TCF and Mets also have a really good matchup.

I think Khalid and Gordon would play really well together and we already know what Kemba and Jeremy brings us. I went back and forth, but I'm going with TCF. He can really space the floor with his team and I think CV's athleticism would be really hard for Knight to deal with.

I don't think much of Albert Mouring in these "super team" fantasy games. IMO his defense was poor. And Denham Brown being a better ball-handler imo - it has little impact. He was never much of a passer so if he drives in the lane with guys like Armstrong and Freeman in the paint - I don't think that is necessarily good.

With Marcus and Rip- Rashard can get open looks so he doesn't need to be a better ball-handler. I give the edge to Rashard because imo he fits better because the 2 aforementioned will get inside the lane a lot.

I really like TCF's team, and he beat a good METS team. I liked METS' team length on defense and bevy of options on offense.

There have been a lot of good teams eliminated in the first round. I think that's just a testament to how many good players we've had at UConn.

So you're dinging Mouring for not being a great defender...but Rashad was a good defender? Mouring is VERY underrated. He was an amazing shooter.

I feel like AJ Price is getting overlooked here. He lead the team to a Final 4. Marcus Williams played on a stacked team that underachieved.

I love Freeman, but I think Adrien was the better player.

Regarding the defense between Rashard and Mouring, - the game isn't one-on-one. IMO the strength of Joober's offense is his backcourt and Rashard. So you can't hide Mouring. The offense of Mouring and DBrown isn't as good thus I didn't feel Rashard's defense would hurt his team more than Mourings.

As far as "stacked team" of Marcus, I thought Marcs was the most important player - even more than Rudy Gay- thus that is super impressive. He wasn't better than Rudy Gay. But as you say Marcu's team was stacked and yet imo Marcus was most important.

And as far as Freeman vs Adrien I take Freeman. First off UCONN Doesn't get to final four without Freeman (and Voskhul's) domination of Gonzaga - but more importantly Freeman's versatility on defense was amazing. Look at the 98-999 final four, Freeman guarded and shutdown Michael Redd- a guard. Freeman's quickness an strength allowed him to defend nearly any player (within reason) on the court.

We'll just have to agree to disagree Though I made the comments after voting closed. These are all great teams including yours.

Why would I hide Albert Mouring? He was a career 41% 3 point shooter and scored over 15 points a game his senior year.

I don't think UConn gets to the final 4 in '09 without Adrien or AJ Price for that matter.

You sort of help my point on the Marcus Williams front. He was the most important player...and he was a BIG part of why they underachieved. (and not that it matters in this excersize, but he underachieved in the NBA as well, where AJ has done a very good job and has been in the league a long time)

I also think we're underestimating Okafor's ability here. He MURDERS Armstrong. He was our only NPOY and he was arguably the best defensive player we've ever had at UConn. No one is getting an easy bucket around the rim with Emeka.

I'm not saying it's a blowout by any means. I like Joobers team and am bummed I caught him in the first round. Very tough matchup.

I'm talking about his defense. His offense -- is he really going to score 15 ppg? I said you can't hide him defensively.

An we want to talk about "underachieving?" -- Yu want to talk about Williams --blaming him for underachieving, well what did Mouring's team do in is sr year? DBrown and Rashard- how did they do in their sr year? And Mich State took it to us at the final four. Did they underachieve in that one game?

And if you want to talk about NBA- then wouldn't you talk about Rip's career vs anyone else's on your team?

I didn't feel great about my team as the draft progressed but having seen my match up I do feel better. I'd agree those are two close teams and I don't think anyone would make an argument that either would blow the other out.

Still think I should have won though ;)

You put together a really good team. I thought TCF's was just a hair better, but that's just my opinion. I can see why you got a lot of votes and it wouldn't have surprised me if you won.
