Terrible. Was hoping he was gonna return to form and continue the dream of playing ball. It’s one thing to be beat out for a job or leave on your terms. Stinks when it’s health reasons that necessitate a retirement decision.
 
Terrible news to wake up to. I’m glad he signed that 3 year extension before the 2020 season. At least he’s getting an extra $11M. According to spotrac, he has “only” made about 4M through last season.
 
The Scott Oberg news is certainly a shock, even though Oberg has had recurring health problems of this ilk ever since he was at UConn. Probably more of a shock to me because I clearly remember him pitching for UConn not all that long ago.
