"The University of Connecticut rings in the new year with a pair of Atlantic Hockey games this weekend with the RIT Tigers at the Mark Edward Freitas Ice Forum. The Huskies begin the 2014 portion of their schedule with back-to-back home series with RIT and Robert Morris. The RIT Tigers have been off since skating to a 2-2 tie with Niagara on December 14th. The Huskies and Tigers are both tied with Air Force for third place in the AHA standings, all with 11 points on the year. "

Games after RIT: UCONN will welcome Robert Morris to Freitas Ice Forum Thursday, Jan 9 and Fri, January 10.

That was a big time sweep! But it begs the question how in heck did they lose to Sacred Heart??? Another home series coming up this week against Robert Morris. The Colonials are rebuilding this year but we need to continue to play tough hard nosed hockey to stay in the fight.

Great sweep this weekend. I'm a little surprised at the lack of discussion or commentary here given the sweep, but I guess everyone is too busy wringing their hands about the new football coaches and trying to solve the men's basketball team's problems.

toughed out a good win on Friday 2-1 then had a blowout victory on Saturday. they have 2 very tough road series coming up, at Air Force which is never a pick nick and at Mercyhurst, the team leading the conference. So they really need to take care of business this weekend.
