Well since it was only 1 game it's impossible to get there any faster! It's the fastest I've seen a UConn program with no votes make the top 25 even when they've beaten a top 25 programs.
With a post like this get your butt over to the ten toes in thread and make your voice known.I don't understand why it's so surprising to some. UConn has some nice pieces but no know quantities at 4/5 and at the helm. 4/5 held their own against a top 15 opponent with formidable 4/5 and KO held his own against a future HOF coach. Couple that with a guard tandem of Boat and Bazz together with deep bench and a stud freshman guard and I'm wondering why it is so low.
Agreed, we beat a very well respected coach and team on neutral ground on national TV. Bilas said he felt the #14 ranking form MSU was too low. I had hopes we'd be like the Nova team that had 4 guards and was in the top tier. And our new stud OC had a bad game as well. Definately reason for optimism.I don't understand why it's so surprising to some. Didn't we go from unranked to being top ten during the championship year in 2011? Of course this was after beating Michigan State and Kentucky in the Maui Invitational. It's the fastest I've seen a UConn program with no votes make the top 25 even when they've beaten a top 25 programs. No matter, this is good for the program.
I'll also take it but I'd be surprised if we were in the Top 25 at the end of the season. If we are in the Top 25 at the end of the season after everything the program has been through, Ollie could be in the running for coach of the year.

All I can remember was there were times when fans were b*tching about UConn getting votes and not cracking the top 25 after beating a ranked opponent while teams within the top 25 losing and remaining in the top 25. I know this happened more than once. I can't remember the specific years. Sorry. It was this fuzzy memory of past history that made me surprised when UConn cracked the top 25 this quickly. How long ago was it that we had no votes before this?
I considered this as well.I wonder if Ollie has a positive impact on the Coaches and writers around the country. Sort of like rooting for the underdog. Just wondering.
