Today was huge.

Boston gets in both games of a doubleheader and New York has to postpone both. With barely a month left, it's a big advantage for Boston for rest and rotation purposes.

Baltimore isn't much of a threat to NY talent wise, but it will force NY to manage their pitchers better, make some smart moves within the 40 man roster and keeps some players from getting badly needed rest.

Especially with the Yankees asking Baltimore to play a doubleheader yesterday and them declining (which they have every right to do). I think the Yanks only have two off days for the rest of the season and they have to squeeze in what, 3 games into those dates now.

The Sox have now played 4 more games than the Yankees and that is an advantage this late in the season. Going to be a tight race unless Boston sweeps next week.

I still dont understand how they scheduled a double header for yesterday knowing a week in advance of the potential.

They tried to time it and screwed the pooch.

Now the Yanks play 19 games in 18 days without a day off.

While NY plays two today and one tomorrow, Boston has today and tomorrow off.

No excuses for Boston not to take at least two out of three in the series, nor is there any excuse for Boston to not be in front by the time the Yanks get a day off on the 15th.

and in the end it really doesnt matter who wins the division. both teams are making the playoffs and if somehow ny wins the first round boston will destroy them.

Doesn't matter for the Red Sox. They think they can beat both the Rangers and the Tigers. Now the Yankees...

Yankees might be able to beat detroit. both teams have little pitching outside of their respective Ace.
