Hurley's coaching this season

Between multiple players with multi-game injuries, the gauntlet out of conference schedule and atrocious officiating many games, I agree it was his best coaching year despite the usual head scratching losses along the way. All starting with getting key guys to buy back in before the season in a time when every one of them could probably have bailed for a bigger payday. It’s a great culture to be a part of.

Not even me - many outside of UConn fans. Not sure if most here have any awareness of the outside world.
Who are all these people? I probably watch more college basketball than you do and I've never heard it. I've seen you say it a bunch.

Wasn’t ever a genuine talking point, just haters trying to find a reason to discredit Hurley.

Don’t listen to those people.

Other fanbases, Twitter, etc. I've heard it a number of x, Hurley was lucky enough to have Clingan in his backyard, yada.

The craziest thing is, last year, we should've beaten Florida. If we won that game I think that team could've gone to the title game too.
He's the best tourney coach ive ever seen. Love Izzo, but he aint that
This has been in the forefront of my consciousness throughout this tourney. We were not far off of 4 in a row! A couple of bounces, a couple of calls, a couple of 3’s. Not really a pipe dream, more of a coulda shoulda, damn, it was there!! Danny has em ready at the right time!

I will agree with RuffRuff for once there was a lot of this narrative going around

I want to say it was smoke and mirrors against mostly mediocre Big East teams, except Hurley also had plenty of high level wins in the beginning of the year and throughout the tourney.

Really was an A+ job getting as far as he did with the roster and external factors like injuries.

Incredible coaching job, but a comment that while maximizing rosters and making moves in games and building gameplans is important, the thing this staff does best is create an environment of mental toughness. These teams persevere. They don't quit. Even last year we gave the champs all they could handle while being a less talented team. It's a cultural feature that I hope they can maintain, because these teams are all likable and easy to root for.

Hopefully we can be a little more confident (at least while Hurley is our coach or until it is proved otherwise) when it comes to the hand-wringing about getting the 1 vs 2 vs 3 seed, or not covering the spread against mediocre teams, or losing an occasional wtf game, or player X not living up to potential. When we get to March, we are one of the favorites. Period. Trust the process, enjoy the ride.
