That’s not new. Nobody runs that 2-3 matchup better than Syracuse. It’s a freaking nightmare for teams who have not seen it. It always has been. That’s good for a couple tournament wins a year, and legendary status for Jim B.

SDSU is playing right into the zone and making it look like some kind of Fort Knox defense. They're literally checking every box on the list of things not to do against a zone:

• slow, short passes around the perimeter that don't force the zone to shift
• don't flash a guy to the foul line
• don't pass the ball anywhere inside the perimeter, force the zone to collapse, then kick to an open shooter
• dribble around the perimeter to nowhere
• force up a contested 3 with 4 seconds left on the shot clock
• miss every outside shot

SU is playing well, but this offensive scheme from SDSU is horrendous.
