Jeez. A $40M subsidy in 2017? Where is that even going to?

Three Reasons UConn Should Keep Trying For Power Five Conference

1. Football is where the money is.
2. Other UConn sports need that football income.
3. A Power Five spot could enhance UConn's educational mission.

The Courant on-line comments should be gold when they start rolling...

Not sure if yiu read the comments, but that guy that had not clue who the P5 conferences were made me laugh. Not sure if that's a troll job or he is really that stupid

UConn needs to align itself with good schools ASAP. A couple decades from now, a few of the schools we are aligned with won't even exist.

Winter is coming, and most all of these schools know it. Only the privates with big endowments will survive, and only the publics with a research mission. The others will either disappear or become local colleges.

"Editorial just made the argument to discontinue football as it costs more than it brings in. Since it is the most expensive sport in the department, discontinuing it would free up more funds for other sports that are far less expensive. "

Uh, do you think you might want to consider the revenue part of the equation as well chief?
