Good luck to Howie in the future. I remember at the Final Four in Tampa when our section gave him a standing ovation as he walked down to his seat before the final game. NDaKota, Howie was with CCSU in 1999.

Props to him on his career.

With that, hopefully CCSU is removed from our schedule for the time being - unless it's an exhibition.

Really the only reason we play them, and several other New England bottom-feeders, on a regular basis.

Aren't the coaches at UNH, Maine, and Sacred Heart all UConn alum? Am i missing more?

I actually saw Steve Pikiell's Stony Brook play Albany tonight. LOVE the way his guys play. Looks familiar. But ... they got outplayed and outshot ... after WINNING 18 IN A ROW.

I had a feeling he was going to retire after the season. I always thought he would eventually come back to UConn at some point after he left CCSU to help KO in a type of role that Blaney had with Calhoun. There are no openings now obviously but I would welcome him on the staff in a heart beat. Howie is a great coach that knows the game very well.

I will always be very appreciative for Howie's help in building UConn, but he retired about 4 years ago.

There will be as many UCONN ex-players at this game as possible. Everyone who played on his teams in the 80's & 90's loved Coach D

As one of the few resident Central fans... thank God they figured this out the last two years have been horrific.

No one should forget Howie's huge contribution many years ago getting our program going. Tough and relentless just like JC.

Howie should always have a special place with the Huskies and Huskies fans.

One of my all time favorites.

He left after 96 when Ray and Doron led a mass exodus. I was really worried all those things combined meant our window had closed. I was pretty wrong.
