Driven, sticks out to me. To have been able to coach at this level, for 4 decades with sustained success, you have to have one hell of an internal drive to keep it going.

The fact that Geno always is there for his players after they leave Connecticut, that he offers advice and counseling, that he's sometimes harsh but always protective and loving leads me to "fatherly."

(He intuitively knows the hot buttons to push for every player to motivate them to be better and reach for higher goals than they thought they could reach. Besides X's and O's that is what has made him the basketball coaching GOAT.)
