How tough are Hurley's practices?

Practices have been closed for quite a while but I went a bit Hurley's first 2 seasons. Pre-season practices are tougher than in-season practices in all teams. I don't think his practices are substantially "tougher" than most teams (all college teams practice tough)... but the emphasis is always on physical defense. And we have recruited players that are big, strong, and athletic to begin with.
By the time conference play comes around, practices are a lot of recovery work, scouting, and tuning up unless we have a decent break between games. If you practice hard all the time, people are going to get injured. There are times the starters and healthy rotation minutes guys won't practice scrimmages at all, but the benchwarmers will have it tougher.
