This is the question the coaching staff must learn to solve. We have lots of solid players, but there is no one that defenses have to gameplan for in space.

Unfortunately, it will likely take 2-3 years to be able to sufficiently evaluate an answer to this question.

And a commitment to an offense that buys into more than run right, run left, run up the middle, repeat cycle.

UConn, did throw quite a bit this year, mostly they threw a lot in the end. Why? Because they trailed in a lot of games and where forced to throw. The time to throw - and throw efectively - is when the game is 0-0. Force the defense to be responsible for the entire field of play.

I do think a lot of that was personell driven, though. Who did we have that was capable of throwing the football, especially back in September? This staff came in in Mid-January, so they essentially missed the recruiting cycle entirely. Did what they could to hold onto Edsall's guys and did a decent job of that, but I doubt those were the same guys Pasquoloni and DeLeone would have recruited. I think you'll see a different style and a different level of recruits going forward. The problem of course is that most of them won't be in position to help until the 2013 season at best. They seem to have landed a couple of tranfers who can hlep right away and maybe even a JUCO quarterback who might not need as much seasoning.
