People assume that KO would be interested in the Lakers since he's from SoCal, but a major reason for going to UConn in the first place was to get as far away as possible from LA. By all accounts KO did not have a pleasant childhood, and home for the Ollies has been CT for quite some time. So why would he want to go back to LA now?

The Lakers are not the Lakers of old. Why would he want to go too a dysfunctional situation even in LA.

Here is can be special and loved for many years. In LA he could be fired in a few years if the GM and owner screw things up as they have been lately.
