Stef’s listed height is 6’5”, Lou is 6’3”, ONO is 6’5” according to the UConn site. What’s the Hartley unit conversion again?

1 Hartley unit = 1.7136 meters

Note: These conversion factors do not take into account the media height exaggeration factor, and should only be used when comparing actual side-by-side photographs

ONO is easily an inch+ taller (at the shoulder). I suspect ONO has a wider reach too.

Now does that mean ONO is 6'6+ or does it mean that Dolson was only 6'3" at UConn? If the later then a couple of trophies need to be returned to the NCAA since we all know that you need at least two 6'5" posts to compete for a title.

I think I see laces - she's got shoes on I would say.

It appears that Dolson does not have on shoes. The laces you see are on ankle braces that she’s wearing. Look at their shoulders. ONO is standing taller than Stef.

Bottom line, assuming that Stef is 6’5” as advertised, and looking at her standing next to Kobe Bryant (6-6) in a recent photo taken this summer, I’d say ONO is a legitimate 6-5. We know ONO is slender. She's been in the weight room since her fist week on campus last year. She is putting on muscle. She'll be fine. If you have doubts, just think of DeWanna Bonner of the WNBA Phoenix Mercury.

She weighs LESS and has less muscle than ONO. She been an all star and a league champion during her 9 years in the league. Her frail body type has not held her back one iota.

I honestly don't know so I am going to move on to this next thought:
That picture would make one hell of a recruiting poster, post card, animation, commercial, screen saver, GIF something!

Liv was standing next to Charli Collier the 6’5 center from Texas in one of her highlight videos on YouTube and Liv was visibly taller then Charli. I would say Liv is about 6’6, Charles looks 6’4, Lou looks 6’3, and Stef looks 6’5.

Liv is really, really, really tall!

I can’t tell exactly what is going on with Stef’s feet, but comparing Liv to Phee, Lou, and Tina, I think Liv is now very close to 6’6.” I want to see her next to Big Syl. She may earn the moniker Big Liv!

All I know for sure, Geno is NOT 6'1".

Using Photoshop squared off photo using free throw line and blue background padding on wall. Established scale factor of photo by introducing the "calibration measurement apparatus" (Bria). Once photo was "re-calibrated" for 5'8" (all heights from internet for all individuals) my next line of reference was Diana 6'0" followed by the 6'3" (KLS and Tina) reference line.

Dolson does have her shoes/sneakers off. Are players heights with or without shoes/sneakers?

Geno seems to be same height as Sue 5'9".

Players who wear sneakers during the game should be measured that way...players who choose to play barefoot should be measured accordingly..although imo a team that plays sans shoes will invariably go down in defeet er defeat............

I believe she said she’s been measured by the doctor (without shoes) at 6’4.5, which is why she always went with 6’4 as her listed height. Shoes usually add 1-1.5” so she could easily be 6’6 in this photo.

Also, most basketball players like to be measured with their shoes on because of the added height. A taller listed height typically makes them more desirable since it’s something that can’t be changed in the weight room or with coaching. That’s also why different media outlets list different heights for the same player.

Haha - If Dolson is 6'5", then 1.1 Dolson units = 7' 3/4"
That math is tricky stuff, especially when you add decimal points! Since we have been introduced to Hartley and Dolson Units, there has been considerable confusion on the part of some fans. I suggest the Mods create a pinned conversion chart at the top of the page. It would be similar to the rules and information post. ;)

:eek:Uhm...I'm pretty sure 1 chart is not going to clear up the confusion. At a minimum, suggest we post one in English, one in metric, and another in Canadian.

My intent was not to clear up anything. But that would have been an admirable goal. Good people like you think of those things. Me, I was just poking fun! ;)

Not as tall as this thread.
Tall is one thing, but deep is even more magical. But thank god Hartley units function in multidimensional space.

1 Dolson Unit = 1.13235294 Hartley Units.

That's all you need to know. How hard can that be?
