With the loss to UCLA over the weekend Oregon has fallen out of the Top 10 for the first time after being there for 64 consecutive appearances. How many weeks has UConn been in the Top 10? I think I read somewhere that they have been since sometime in 2010, is this correct?

I tried to find the streaks for the Coaches Poll, but so far Google isn't being helpful.

Oh, these streaks are for Active streaks, no idea what the all time streaks are.

I think an even more impressive streak is not having a two game losing streak since I think 1993. Somewhere close to 1,000 games without losing in succession. Way before any of the current players were born!

Not consecutive, but this week was the 501st week in the top 10 of the AP poll for UCONN. Only Tennessee, with 617, has more.
Of TN's 617, what is their longest consecutive streak, do you have that information too?

If I'm not mistaken Uconn passed 1,000 games without back-to-back losses. Or maybe it was 10,000 days without back-to-back losses. I know it was a number with a lot of zeros in the number. Help, the brain cells are dying...

8/2/20 marked 10,000 days without back-to-back losses. At the time it was also 993 games, which means we should be at 999 games now. Wow! Saturday, win or lose should be 1,000 games.

The Tennessee streak was 565 consecutive as listed by @TWG236 in a thread on this very forum. Using our new search function (Thank You @temery ) I was able to quickly find it! Give it a go, it's pretty slick!....

The streak is amazing...but is it me(?) but approx 10 years in the top ten sounds better than 502 weeks

Question for historians: What happened in 2005 that caused UConn to drop out of the top ten?

My question is why didn't Baylor drop out of the top ten after their loss to Arkansas?

This has to be the least important question in the history of the world. No offense intended.

UCONN just wasn't very good that year after Taurasi/Conlon left. Strother was projected to take the reigns as the next go to player but was much better suited to be a Robin than Batman. The team improved each year but wasn't able to get back to the final four until Maya joined in 2008 and took UCONN to unprecedented heights.

Tennessee started cold that year too (2005) and when they played in January, I think Tennessee was #10 or 11 while UCONN was #14. By far the lowest ranking for each team of any Pat/Geno rivalry game.

@bballnut90 raises an interesting parallel analysis: many programs have significant dips after their elite teams/player graduate and after DT UConn experienced a 4 year drought while averaging a measly 31.25 wins per year, 1 Sweet 16, 2 Elite 8s and 1 Final Four. After Stewie’s last title in 2016, UConn is in a 4 year drought, averaging 34 wins per year, with 3/3 Final Fours.
I would say to all the critics of Geno’s gap In recruiting after KLS and Pheesa, that Geno did significantly better now than he did back in 2003-06.
What Geno and CD have done this past 12 years is uncharted in history and makes the season prior to 2008 look downright pedestrian.
Just unbelievable and is why their success of any type of streak will be nearly impossible to match, let alone supersede.
