Last night I actually kept track of our offensive possessions. Although I probably missed a few because of offensive rebounds I came up with 62. Our turnover ratio was pretty bad in the first 5 minutes but after that we calmed down and took care of the ball.
How many possessions is typical in a college game? Of course it depends on tempo. I would think we want more possessions than most teams.

correct it does depend on tempo. A game with either Villanova or Virginia will have less possessions as those two are very slow paced team that rank in the 300s,

Sorry, I don't have an answer at the moment.
