on November 26th, that Ryan Boatright hitting 3 free-throws would be the key to our season? Without that win, we're probably on the wrong side of the bubble.

The FSU win was definitely huge. They and ND are the only current top 25 teams that uconn beat.

What's even crazier is that Boat doesn't seem to know how to make FTs anymore.

That was his first game back and he nails 3 FTs to force OT. Heck, when was the last time the entire team made 3 consecutive FTs in a game???

This has been one of the strangest years.

Freethrows - we were better last year. Sure Kemba shot a high percentage and Drummond's FT shooting is sub-par, but even the guys like RS and TO seem to have hit higher % of FTs last year.

Lamb is the only good FT shooter right now. I still trust Shabazz as well.

RS was much better last year, as was Alex. I actually thought Alex seemed to figure it out near the end of last year.

I've come to the point where I'm just hoping for 1 of 2.

Yes agreed that RS was money last year at FTs.

And regarding AD - I was listening to the big east audio feed for the Depaul game, and the announcer basically said that fouling Drummond & sending him to the line is like a turnover - the unfortunate part is that he is right for the most part. When AD makes 1 of 2, that's like hitting a three pointer - so everyone claps. Maybe he should just try to really brick the 2nd shot on occasion and go for the rebound himself.

Seriously, I don't know what the heck happened to RS's free throw shooting, he used to be pretty consistent and now he's on his way to AD territory in terms of percentage (well maybe not quite that bad). He shot 79% last year and is at 65% this year.

He hasn't taken many free throws so a few bad games can really skew the percentages. Before to the Syracuse game at Gampel he was at 74%. He had a bad game from the line against Cuse and obviously struggled in the Garden, but it's not like he's been bad all year.

The key to our season was Calhoun's back. Period. It was far and away the most important factor this year.

It never would have occurred to me when we were playing in the Bahamas that we were a bubble team. Never. We were a very good team not playing very well, but it was friggin November.

Very strange, and very disappointing, season to date. If you're a pessimist, the key word in that sentence was "disappointing." If you're an optimist, the key words in that sentence were "to date."

Time will tell.
