Losing to Utah 23-10 in 4qtr
Attendance slipping.

A blowout loss at mich st in a few weeks wil probably do it. Otherwise end of season,

Looks like the backup QB isn't gonna save him.

There's a really good book on Michigan football "Three and Out" that details the Byzantine world of football politics in Ann Arbor.

I don't think Hoke will last much longer.

His seat should be the hottest right now. Either his or Al Golden's anyway.

It's kind of odd..but FSU fans are not big supporters of Jimbo. How he has managed the Jameis situation is an example of what they don't like. From an outsiders viewpoint, it seems crazy you can win a national title and be at risk....but they really aren't behind Jimbo at FSU.

Hoke is the opposite. He is a Michigan guy and the boosters/administration love him as a person. They hate his results, but they will give him plenty of time to succeed and they won't fire him mid-season. He is well liked there.

I would guess that is why those two are ranked where they are.

As an aside...RE has slipped down the list deservedly so. Md looks pretty good....and amazingly they have real playmakers and their offense is fun to watch.

Who is Edsall's offensive coordinator in MD and what kind of offense do they run?

I believe a lot of Florida St. fans wish right now that Jameis was able to turn pro and left Tallahassee on a high note with a Heisman and a National title and the end of last season. Instead, they have a circus going on down there right now with 'what will Jameis do this week' headlines leading he way. This of course is ironic considering Jamies once said tot he effect that he did not want to be the next version of Johnny Football. At least Manziel's antics were somewhat benign is that he was just partying-up. If Jameis was not living in Tallahassee and the starting quarterback for Florida St's national championship football team, he would be watching Seminole games from his jail cell.

If you value brain cells do not click on the link. Good grief.

Golden gets another year for a pass...the NCAA no sanctions really killed them recruiting wise. Hoke is a "Michigan" guy, they got exactly who they wanted after Rich Rod...he has been pretty much an unmitigated disaster. It will be interesting to see where they go next.

Mike Locksley..Towson St grad....GREAT recruiter...was OC for Zook at Illinois then got HC job at New Mexico..was again an unmitigated disaster there. He was kind of forced on Edsall like Weist was forced on Pasqualoni. It has turned out for the better.

Oh please....what is this guy smokin'???
NICK SABAN on the hotseat at #14......get a grip.....
I get some of the thoughts here on some of the other coaches-but Saban really??? How can you take the author of the ranking with any serious?
In SEC country, he stands at the right of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost??? Every SEC team would first be relieved, then
every school in the country would be examining it's checkbbok to see if it can write the check to get him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hoke is done. Whether it's this season or not. He has lost the faith of the boosters. Only a B1G title or a playoff berth can save him. All we want around here at the moment is respectability.

How bad are things in Ann Arbor? 2 free tickets to the Minnesota game if you buy 2 bottles of Coke (via @ByAZuniga) pic.twitter.com/edj53owgmp

Solid Verbal: Thoughtful of Michigan to provide a free napkin with purchase of two Coke products.

BobbyBigWheel: If Tate Forcier buys enough Coke maybe Michigan will let him back on the team

Who's in contention to be his replacement?
They should throw the bank at les miles. He probably won't take it, but still worth a shot since he has some past connection to Mich.

He's not going to get another year unless he only loses one more game, and that could depend on how badly they lose to FSU. He has squandered a pretty talented roster and his loyalty to one of the worst defensive coordinators in history, Mark D'oNofrio, is going to do him in. There aren't many people left here that like Golden outside of the admin, and Shalala will be retiring, so he is going to lose that ally.

I think it was pretty telling when PSU didn't hire Golden recently. Some might say they wanted someone outside the Paterno circle. I think that is a convenient excuse...they didn't see him do enough with the talent he had in Miami. He really hasn't won a big game down there. It's a matter of time before the alumni of Da U get vocal with their frustration.

He pretty much never won the big games at Temple either. At this point I think it is fair to say that we have seen enough of his career to know that he is a guy that can get the job started, but not quite finish it.

That is the problem with this "we want results right now" society.

Brady Hoke is a good man and coach and will put Michigan on its rightful path.

He needs probably 2-3 more years, minimum, to put his stamp on the program forever. I say give him that time.

Get off the guy's back and let him stand there on the sidelines during the game and do his job, whatever that is.

Strangely enough, I feel the same way about Will Muschamp at Florida.

Muschamp is in year 4...he has had enough time. He has amazing resources at his disposal including the most fertile recruiting ground in the country and he still has a shaky QB and a shaky offensive line. And the defense has taken a step back this year.

If the Gators don't win 8 or more games this year, I don't see how he survives.

Not a chance is Diaco on the hotseat right now. He can just about do anything short of committing obscene acts with the UConn dairy herd and he's fine this year. He needs to show signs of life next year but this year he's fine regardless of outcome, bizarre decision-making, bad in game coaching and so on.

he could probably diddle the livestock in Year 2 and be safe too. Really need to give the guy 3 to 4 years before heating up his seat.

I agree. I think they should sign him to a ten year extension, similar to the deal ND gave Weis.

Maybe, but I think there needs ot be real progress next year...not Diaco progress, but wins and losses progress, game playing progress. After the Pasqualoni years, he gets this year to do what he wants, but this will make 4 consecutive losing seasons. You go much longer and a certain mindset gets established that makes it even more difficult to turn around. I mean, how many times can you go back to square 1 and have a hope of being successful?

It's going to take 3 years just to fix the mess the OL is, which seems to be UConn's biggest issue right now. Tough to tell if UConn's RB's are any good because of the shape of the OL and the same can sort of be said for the QB (likely Whitmer is as good as he will get now) and WR situation. The D looks workable.

Announcers crucifying Hoke for leaving QB in when it's clear he could barely walk.
