December 3rd. Next BOT meeting is on that date. I believe Benedict has his next coach lined up and will make the formal announcement at the meeting.…..until we hear anything? Until an actual hire? 24 hours has seemed like a month! What’s the betting population say with all their overs and unders and parlays??

Will early signing mean much to us this year?Lines up w/ early signing days 12/3-12/5.
If we can get guys signed and early enrolled on campus in January it would seem beneficial. Will early signing mean much to us this year?

Hold on for 20 more minutes.…..until we hear anything? Until an actual hire? 24 hours has seemed like a month! What’s the betting population say with all their overs and unders and parlays??
We’ve had 4 decommits so far this cycle…We've had 2 decommits so far, can't imagine that the rest are reaching out just in case new coaches don't want them or they don't want new coach. This is the first test for Sammis.
AD DB must have some idea that Mora wasn't happy about some things. I hope he has a list ready to go for situations like this.
This. I don't think him leaving was an indictment on UConn. Mora is an old man and probably wants to get back to the rocky mountains, where his family and home are. He turned down Stanford and OSU as well, two jobs certainly better than CSU. He was interested in the Colorado job before DeionInteresting comment from Dave Benedict to Mike Anthony yesterday:
“He obviously knew if there was anything that was important to him at UConn, we could have had that conversation. But that, at least from what I talked to him about, wasn’t really the calculus or what drove this decision.”
Now before the “whattya expect Benedict to say” crowd weighs in… I’m not naive but he also didn’t have to say anything in that regard yesterday - he could have let it play out.

we're conference locked even if Saban signed on for the near future. the important thing is getting plus 500 recordsSerious Question:
How much does a BIG name in a coaching hire affect UCONN attractiveness to a conference?
Justification for the question:
Right now we have very successful athletic programs and our football pedigree is on the rise. So, if we want other conferences taking us seriously and this is my hypothesis then we need to show them we will invest in a big name coach. Look who has coached at Cincinnati, Louisville, Houston, UCF, and WV* (not mentioning Syracuse, VT, Pitt, BC, or Miami FL obvious historical football success reasons). Didn't include USF or Memphis as they are also on the outside. These two schools are similar in that they are not in a good conference and from what I know I don't believe have had that BIG name in a coach either. USF was close until their HC gave them issues but he never won anything. Louisville head coach went to SEC and they were considered having invested in additional head coaches. And SMU - well they bought their way into the ACC. So is this part of the formula for getting into a good conference? My theory is it used to be and until proven otherwise I believe it still is.
Keep in mind the college football landscape has their historic prom queens so the question remains can a new head coach with a big name be the dress that we need to get a look?
*WV was not wanted by the ACC and at the time the BIG XII took them and many of us here at the time thought the BIG XII was the lesser of the conferences although they also did have a good history in college football during the BCS era.
Reno would be a massive mistake. We need to pay up and move up with a coach that has a clear record of success at the FBS level and can attract P4 level talent. Mora got guys on name recognition and selling his NFL knowledge. Don’t need the little engine that might.I’m betting on 12/15 as our approximate latest date unless our target has extenuating circumstances. There shouldn’t be anyone on our list that can’t take the job right now with the exception of Chesney, whom we have virtually no chance of getting. 12/3 would line up with the narrative that we’ve already got our guy pretty much (Reno).
I’m hoping he takes some time to make sure we can’t get another big fish before he hires someone.
Does this mean you're going to return to the Rent?My year one, gotta be ready for Spring practice
