Would you have felt better if he was on Towson instead? You can gather from other comments that your complaint doesn't seem to resonate with others here and that's among the hardcore fans who actually know what there is to know about DJ. Iowa obviously thinks DJ adds value to their program at the moment. He was a stand-up player at UConn, two-time captain, dean's list guy who provided me with one of my favorite end of game moments ever (OT vs Pitt throwing the ball out of the stadium).
I'm sure you already are aware of this but when you constantly complain about inconsequential stuff, it means the rest of your dialogue is usually going to be ignored.
Obviously I had to sift through all the hate mail, they are all well written and to the point. I like you all for being UCONN fans. I chose to reply to yours because you are the only one that used a word pertaining to the topic. Inconsequential the topic is not. I have no hatred for DJ and sympathize with him and his family at this time.
I simply think that this is a mistake on the administrations part by putting a former player (local and well publicized) who lost his first high school coaching job because he taught the players the wrong lesson on a ticket. Let alone the biggest game to ever be played at our home stadium.
There are hundreds of players that have come through the program that deserve to be on tickets, it is just my opinion that this is bad timing for our program. Which at this time needs every thing possible going in the right direction, not a single i not dotted or a t crossed.
CT Mike....Teams that take care of minutiae and detail are usually the ones with winning programs. You always quote KO, I am glad you recognize this.
SPECIAL....Comedy and dogs are two of my favorite things in life. Nice post...
GREENBACK....Agree that was great to see but it does not change what he went on to do teaching wise. Not good timing. I do hope you were at the 2010 USF game with the other 113 of us at the end to see Teggart do his thing! There is a guy that deserves to be on a ticket.
WAQUOIT...Hello...Wake up. The DJ incident referred to here was in Nov of 2010, I find it hard to believe this years tickets went to print before this date. No malice, just say'n.
BIZLAW...Thank you, often told thought prevoking and insight to the big picture. Sorry the fact rubbed a lawyer wrong.
BOOTS....Your comment followed by Yogi's is spot on! The point of the post! He was a great leader at UCONN but what did he do in the short term future?
Sorry we all have to agree to disagree but I stand by my post. The timing and the player involved just does not fit where we are trying to go at this time as a program. Again this is only my opinion and I have always thought that is what these forums are for. I could be wrong I was once.
GO DOGS POUND TOWSON !!!!!!!
