Article from the Register. "Sampson"? Oy vey, et tu Roger Cleaveland? 😀

“Eric is skilled as hell,” Hurley said. “He can face up and drive. He can make 3's. He has a low post game. It is getting that total buy-in from Eric.

“You have to become dominant for us like as a rim protector, as a ball screen defender, as a low post defender. You have to become dominant as a guy that is going to finish with great efficiency around the basket. Then when you do those things for us, you are going to be able to play out behind the line.

“At that position we need to get that motor and that defensive mindset and that warrior mentality, because I don’t think there are a lot of freshmen that come into college with his offensive skillset.”

Btw, Tarris is now listed at 6-11 and last year he was 6-10. Did he really grow or did he just get new thicker soled basketball shoes? 😀

Hurley said they (recently) measured him at 6’10.5”. Tarris said he grew a bit and is now a legit 6’11. There were no discussions of shoes vs barefoot by either.

Great scenario for Reibe-Tarris is taking his job as mentor seriously. Eric realizes its a year of learning and growth as a two way player. And the coaches and team are pushing him. SnC is gonna help him . Will be an excellent Year2 player for us and I'm sure he'll have some moments for us this season.
