how do you feel about this possible coach?

Right now, a successful TJ is my first option. It puts us a year ahead on digging out of the hole we are in. (By the way if does work out Warde looks a lot smarter doesn't he?)

If not, I'd give Shady a lot of consideration. We know he has done a successful rebuilding job already. RU and UConn we analogous at the time. We could do (and have done) far worse.

Someone said it perfectly. We could do better, we could do worse.

The fact it is even a discussion is making me sick to my stomach. I can't stand him. I hope we don't hire him, but if we do, "keep chopping".

He looks great in comparison to P, but who doesn't?

For the love of BBQ on a Popsicle stick, taking a dead cat program at a state school located in a recruiting hot bed and giving them a pulse is not all that impressive. The impressive part is how screwed up were they beforehand.

TJ is in a tough position, and I'd like to give him a fair shot.......with what TJ has inherited, its as bad as what Greg Schiano inherited when he first went to Rutgers

Alternatively, if TJ doesn't do too well, I don't think Warde can look the other way after expressing the concept that UConn was not living up to his expectations. (This is the part that may not be fair to TJ.......but unfortunately that is the business of BIG TIME COLLEGE football).

I'd take Greg Schiano in a second if TJ was shown the door. I know fans loved to pick on his style(s), but he accomplished something none of our previous coaches equaled:

* recruited highly regarded athletes (not talking stars......point is quite a few well established and recognized college football brands also offered his recruits)

* excited a fan base state wide

* rumored to have had a waiting list for season tickets

*got finances to expand a stadium

*a number of his players are quite successful in the NFL (not picking on UConn's alumnae)

*multidimensional exciting offense........never was lacking for talented QB's, RB's or receivers

*did not win any BE titles, but very seldom got blown out by WVU, Cincinnatti, Louisville or Pittsburgh.....most of the time very competitive with stiff OOC competition

Did anyone ever hear the so called "experts" on any sports channel refer to Rutgers, in Schiano's final years, as irrelevant on the college football map.

Now, if we take off our blue colored glasses, objectively look at those points, in my mind I can understand why the BIG, any other of the power 5, or a moderate college football fan across the country, would have a positive perception of Rutgers, and not so much of UConn

*everyone plays weak OOC schedules......I wouldn't exactly gloat over UConn's scheduling of quite a few OOC marshmellows.

* everyone has its share of WTF losses.....even Michigan

I'm rooting hard for TJ to succeed, but if in Wardes evaluation he decides to go in a different direction, I wouldn't hesitate to at least interview Greg Schiano.

UGH. Now I have to root for Tampa Bay every week. Please don't fire him.

.-.
No...wrong again. I was born and raised in CT. It's in your blood from day 1 but.....

Huh??????????????????????????

Are you claiming that cynicism is in the blood of everyone born and raised in Connecticut?

Just say NO to GS!!! He is another recycled BE coach and just like PP he would ruin CT football - and damaging beyond repair...

Mark Richt is trying to get a first class ticket to the unemployment line today against Tennessee!

I'm no on Schiano. Remember the story about his interactions with Pro scouts, keeping them waiting in a holding pen. Then you have the diving at the legs of the O-lineman in take a knee situations, just complete juvenile behavior. I want someone who doesn't play games, treats people right and get's our players to be all in. I like the way TJ has handled his interviews, his message post coaching change, going to the student union, already talked to many recruits. He get's it but of course the record will be the biggest factor in him getting the job.

Why are we even talking about Schiano? He was a .500 coach at Rutgirls and is imploding a Tampa franchise that was trying to resurge itself before he got there.

He didn't "build" anything at RU. The administration made a great call by almost bankrupting the school but building a bigger stadium and making themselves more attractive to Big 5 poachers. They'll wallow in football mediocrity while cashing $40 million checks. I'm jealous, yes.

He's not only a laughingstock, Schiano is a smoke and mirrors guy.

There are fiery coaches and then there are flaming asswholes like GS.

Just a quick thing to think about for you guys who want Ambrose or Moorehead here.
UVA hc Mike London was the latest and greatest after 2 seasons at Richmond (won the FCS National championship his first yr, made it to the quarter finals his second yr)..where he went after being the OC at UVA.
He has not had the best of luck since UVA hired him in 2010:
2010 4-8
2011 8-5
2012 4-8
2013 2-3

If he doesn't straighten things out, he will be unemployed at the end of this season.

So he'll be available too? ;)

Heck - the "list" here will change every week based on who watches what game!

If we really want a reach -- See if John Dorcy (the Chiefs GM who was the Packers College Scout and a player for the Pack) would like to coach...:)
