i was a a guard all my life so I never mixed it up down low nor know what's going on strategy wise down there. But two games in a row, tons of not boxing out and it's not the usual Brimah goes for a block and his man cleans it up. It's been other guys. What is going on and more importantly, how does it get cleaned up?

In Cincy game, it looked like some of it was DHam doubling, not sure if there isn't enough rotating down or what, but this game wasn't that for sure.

Team rebound. No sneaking out for easy layups. Put a body on the closest guy to the rim that you can get to. When the ball is in flight, you have to look for someone to box out and get there, not watching .....g ball and then react after it bounces off the rim.

The reason we have such a hard time with weakside rebounding is the aggressiveness of Brimah going after shots. When he rotates with the intention of blocking a shot, if that ball gets past his mits his man running, uncontested, at the weakside. NOW, we get much better later in the game as players reallY FOCUS and SELL OUT to make that rotation(usually DHam and Purvis) and the refs lets us play a bit more and mix it up.

2 potential fixes:

1. Brimah is more conservative with help-side block attempts. He has gotten much better at this, highlighted by the last 10 minutes against cincy the other day. He simply must be more selective with his help D, especially early in the game.

2. We play less aggressive perimeter defense on weakside, and let the offside defender cheat. This will make us vulnerable to ball-reversal, however. I think its the loser play.

Summary: Brimah is getting better at this, and since we have been playing so small we've been murdered in some matchups on the glass. When you have a very, very bad rebounder in Brimah at the 5 and are playing a wing at the 4(DHam) while Facey is out, we are already at a disadvantage. Throw in the aggressive rim protection and it compounds matters. We just need to man up, basically.

Agree on Brimah -- he needs a major boost in BBIQ to know when to go for the block and when to stay home and contest the rebound.

Disagree on the 4 -- Hamilton is a much better rebounder than Facey, size discrepancy or not.
