How Ashlynn Shade became UConn's best rebounding guard: 'The kid works pretty hard'

I can imagine why it must be like to coach a player like Ash. So talented, athletic, tough, team-oriented, selfless, positive, receptive to coaching. I’m just grateful to be watching her college career. She exemplifies so much about what is special about college athletics. And feminine athleticism in a team sport setting. Her parents should be enormously proud.
I’d be surprised if fans of opposing teams tremble at the thought of playing against Ash, or even recognize how important her contributions are. But I expect opposing coaches see her as one of the main challenges in facing UConn.
