Acc weuld then have even number of teams for its olympic sports. When ND goes all in - which will happen at some point we will already have our foot in the ooor. And most importantly -We dont have to watch our beloved hoops teams play against mid-majors like tulane and smu. Wheres the downside for the ACC and Uconn with this arrangement?

They have nowhere to play football? Seems pretty obvious.

we keep our football team in the Big Least. East Carolina is in for Football only as is Boise St. Why not us?

They .... don't .... want ..... us. That's why.

The team that benefits the most from being in the ACC is football. The other sports don't need it nearly as much. That's the point.

Honestly why the hell would uconn do this. Hey let's be second class citizens in the acc and let our million dollars if investing in our football program be forgotten!

Just a random thought, but as the hoops powers in the ACC were not crazy over adding L'Ville, what would be the harm in approaching those schools to talk about setting up a true eastern hoops superconference to include G'town, Nova, UConn, Cuse, Duke, UNC, Wake, Pitt, SJU and whomever else merits it. Have Duke/UNC put the ACC on notice regarding hoops viability. They could stay in ACC for all other sports.

As unlikely as that is to happen, it would be really, really interesting. And actually make some sense. Even a substantiated rumor of such would scare the bejeesus out of Swofford.
