Houston vs. OU

Hoophound, it has nothing to do with that, I'm 100 percent behind UCONN alway. This is an even better Houston team than last year. And Ward saw minimal time against us and was ineffective due to his injury. (1-4, 18 yds)

a bit OT - notice City of Houston doing national advertising during the game. They are going full out to make abig time impression on the Big12 selection committee. Frankly, they are making huge statement about membership qualification.

This makes UH and UC much easier, it allows them the opportunity to say meh we don't want BYU's baggage, decide to only take two and take those two. Not to mention the pressure from UT and the Texas politicians.

OU has imploded. A kick-six and two fumbles in one half? We were bad vs. Maine but only had one stupid turnover.

None of this changes the math. And by math, I mean money.

Let's hope our boys bring it up a few notches. Teams can make major improvements over a few weeks. I believe they can. This is another whole level of for all.

The coaching staff needs to wake up for that to happen.

Here's hoping Warde get caught cheating on a few tests and that Houston's 18 yr old, 5 star stud DL named Oliver gets caught as well.

Gonna be hard...Navy is kicking Fordham's teeth in and Fordham is no slouch as far as FCS teams go

Boyle just managed that game....Newsome ran for 114 yds and Anderson and Sherriffs each tossed a TD. And the D played great.

I know still though a game Tim Boyle played in he beat UH thats just crazy.

Maybe OU over rated? Can we give it a couple of weeks . Who here thought we would beat UH last year?
That's what I was implying, OU looks like barely a Top 25 team at all right now. Not clear they aren't the third best team in their own state.

Hard to judge any team after one game, no matter what level.

With OK losing early in the year, and starting so high with a tough schedule, could still have a shot at play offs. Things would have to go their way in terms of other 1 loss teams.

Houston being good might make it easier for the B12 to take 4 teams. No league wants to add 4 crappy teams, but if Houston is seen as adding a powerhouse, then adding a UConn along with them becomes more palatable.

Houston's win made their possible addition to the XII palatable to the TV talking heads and message board savants. It just as easily lost them the potential support of KSU, ISU, TT, KU, and every other middling team.

No XII, Herman leaves and they return to CUSA level program. Yes XII, Herman stays and they will routinely keep these teams out of bowl games and steal their recruits.

Stop being so shallowly reactive.

Does this mean Rice is likely for AAC to replace Houston -- if they get B12 invite?

Bingo. Thus rooting for Houston is ridiculous.
I am not rooting for Houston. Might as well make the best out of what happened. The choices to go to 14, if they do, became much easier.

This might sound silly but I don't think the number or margin of Houston's wins will actually make any difference, but the buzz surrounding the success could be a factor (one of many) in the decision if Houston is borderline. From a football coach's perspective, the other schools don't want to UH recruiting in a P5 league, but that is not likely to influence college presidents.

This solidifies something I read on here and wish I thought of myself: UCONN and UC full members, Houston and BYU football only.
