Sundberg - CF
Verdi - SS
Davey - RF
Melley - 1B
Darras - DH
Siena - 2B
Daniello - 3B

Looks like Hill is getting a shot at the Left Field spot, as Testani has not been hitting.

Sounds like game will resume shortly. Complicating matters for completing games tomorrow is that Houston has a 5pm flight out of Boston, according to Chris Jones of WHUS.

Game 3 - collapse!! Enough said. Penders may want to work on bunt defense one of these days!

Or for that matter, bunt offense, see Siena bottom of the 8th man on first no outs. Difference between winning and losing all year for this team.

Gawd... poor Chris Jones sounds like he's ready to hang himself after today.

Shame - can compete w/ top level teams (Florida, Lousiville, Houston) but can't close out.

You hope they make the tourney just for the additional experience but a tough season none the less.

The funny thing is however that no matter how hard I am on this team, if they can manage to get into the AAC tourney that is when they always play like the team I expect to see all year long. Hopefully they can pull magic again this year when it counts the most. Just hard to imagine at this point the way things are going.

Poor Chris Jones indeed. The eternal optimist did not see much reason for optimism today. Things were that bad.

My nomination for the worst UConn baseball weekend of the year. Houston is indeed a fine ball team, but UConn had all sorts of chances to win all three of these games, and threw them all away. Biggest problem now is what happened with both the bullpen and defense this weekend. When UConn does well, those are the big strengths of the team, they need to do well in those areas of the game to have a chance.

Devin Over and his inability to get the ball over the plate today showed in part why Penders is hesitant to go with rest of the bullpen when a game is late and close. When Mahoney and Ruotolo don't get the job done, it's trouble.

The Huskies are back in action on Tuesday when the play Rhode Island in a doubleheader at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, Conn. Game one of the twin-bill kicks offat 11 a.m. with game two to follow approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion.

If you look at stats, Over, Slade and Brown are actually more effective than Mahoney. Mahoney really having a disappointing year really. I just worry that Ruotolo may me hitting the freshman wall.
