A game we had in control in the first half started slipping away with 5 minutes to go in the first half with Houston going on a 8-0 run to get within 1 at halftime. You simply cannot have that, and then that run continues to open up the second half. That was the difference in the game today. Kevin Ollie made the big mistake of not going back to Enoch. When Enoch was subbed out, it was downhill after that. Enoch brings offensive skills, size, hustle, and positive energy that this team needs especially when Miller wasn't playing well. We need to see more Enoch and less small ball lineups out there. Our guards could not step penetration by Houston's guards and it was a pathetic display of transition defense.

Hamilton--Although he hit 4 or 5 threes in the second half to tie the game, his defense or lack thereof and turnovers really hurt us throughout the game.

Gibbs & Purvis-- Both were not good at all today and made negative plays for us. They are what they are at this point.

Enoch and Adam's need to be starting. LookING toward next year may actually help this year.

Played 17 minutes of good basketball in a 40 minute game. Same as in every other loss, plus a few of the wins. I think these guys are breaking curfew on weekends.

The reason we lost this game:

1) The last 5 of the first half and the first 5 of the second half was ABYSMAL from Hamilton. Turnover City
2) When Shonn is not on the court for as long as he was w/ foul trouble this is not the same team
3) Rodney + Sterling combine for 11 pts
4) WE HAD 8 FT ATTEMPTS...8.....where are the aggressive drives to the hoop and SELLING the foul?
5) We got out-rebounded in Gampel and played some of our worst team defense of the season

I'm not on board for unleashing Enoch so soon. He has a lot of potential and the talent is obviously there, but we can't forget how lost he can look on defense and times and hasn't adapted to the pace of college ball with defensive rotation.

Hamilton had a great offensive 2nd half, but I feel we needed a little more team ball. Quicker passes around the arc and executing more of #4 on this list. Jalen, Shonn, Hamilton & Purvis all have the ability to put up 8 FT attempts per game by themselves if they knew how to draw contact better. That needs to be worked on in practice a bit more, but here we are at the tail end of the season putting up 8 FT attempts AS A TEAM!

We out-rebounded them 35-30.

Agree with some of this

One, both DHam and Rodney are tough to figure though. One rebounds and today made shots while his defense was dreadful. The other's defense was tremendous and his offense was close to awful. They kill you but you need them both - that's why WE are what we are! ;)

The only positive is that the game lowlights were part of the 6 PM news on ABC 7 in New York right after Seton Hall. Someone believes that UConn is part of the NYC TV market.
