As good as Houston looked against OU, they look as bad this week. Ward looks slow, turnovers, Oline is spotty. I hope they both annilate each other.

My god - he was standing flat footed still in the pocket for three mississippi before taking off. Incredible poise.

Right. They look really bad. UConn should look so slow. O line can't block. Ward had seven or eight seconds on that play to find a receiver before he ran it in. Yep, they look really bad.

Greg's Mom, lighten up. They picked it up a bit, yes. Still look beatable. Not so much against OU.

And...........that's a wrap.

Cincinnati was lucky to be in the game - Houston whipped them from the start.

Would be surprising to see them lose one of the next 7.

Texas State/UConn/@Navy/Tulsa/@SMU/UCF/Tulane?

They'll be getting a lot of practice for their game against UL. The Community College Showdown.

Tom Herman says he's been assured Greg Ward's shoulder injury won't get worse by playing with it. And that it will heal "eventually."

Herman said Ward's shoulder is something they'll manage this season.

Tom Herman said Greg Ward's arm "would have to have been hanging off" for him to come out of the game

Hey if that keeps you warm at night...

Good game for 3 quarters but Houston is too talented and explosive!
Their run defense is very tough. It will be interesting to see what
O game plan Verducci comes up with.

I know this sounds extremely dickheadish considering these are college kids, but if I'm Diaco and Poindexter, I'm hitting Ward every play. Nothing cheap, but contact, contact, contact.

If it's not something we're doing every week in practices and games you'd have to focus on a few tendencies to turn guys loose. You'd like to think just containing Ward is enough but giving him time is suicide with his vision and arm strength - even injured. Some of our guys (Walsh in particular) looked a little tired of sitting back and decided to go for it last week. Hopefully the trend continues.

Cincy got a helmet on his throwing arm/shoulder first two series. They dinged him...

I'm sure he'll get his rest if possible against Texas State next week.

Attendance 40,015...third largest in Nippert history. Student attendance 7813, a Nippert record

Beating a dead horse: I wish UConn could boast attendance stats like this. The rating for the game was also excellent. Compare all that to what will surely be less than 30K at our game and we have our reason why UConn is not a top 2 B12 candidate, despite boasting top 2 P5 data. Head bang

Houston qb was the difference in that game. Cincy qb was young and inexperienced. Herman basically played 7 in the box all game and rattled the qb. In fball the qb is the main man and a 4 or 5 year guy is a big asset. Houston's very good.
