If anyone is thinking about going here's the schedule and an article about what recruits will be there. It's a great event to see some of the best high school talent. Darius Adams is playing at 9:00 pm on Saturday. Lots of 2026 recruits there also. Some of the games are on ESPNU, some on NBA TV, and some on BallerTV. La Lumiere and Adams will be on BallerTV.

Thanks for the schedule but are there other games? I know Burlington VT boys are playing but I do not see them listed. They are rated the top team in VT and have a couple of players who may be low D1 players. Abdi Shariff, 6'5" who plays center but is a natural 3 and a lightening quick sophomore point guard, Pascal Munezero.

No idea but I don't see them on the schedule.

I forgot that on Monday, MLK Day, at 5:00 Darius Adams is playing on ESPNU. Might want to check that one out since most of us probably have ESPNU. They're playing Long Island Lutheran (Jayden Ross played there) who has Dylan Mingo, a 6-5 junior point guard who I hope to see UConn recruiting. He's a Hurley type of guard who plays defense hard. Here's a recent article on him: https://247sports.com/article/top-2...recruitment-after-breakout-weekend-243681149/

Here's a roster break down of each team, which is helpful.

I was there today/tonight. My son played in it. Kamani was there watching a few of the later games and Liam was there watching Montverde. I’m hoping Hurley will be there this weekend to watch Adams.

Gavin Keefe can't write articles on UConn games but he goes up to Springfield and writes an article on Adams? What is going on at The Day?

Here's another article on Adams from the Courant. Not a good game for him last night. Must have also been depressed about the Huskies losing. :)

“I think (Dan Hurley) is gonna be able to bring more dog out of me,” he said. “So I’m excited for that, I’m excited to be in the program. I’m excited to work. … Definitely getting stronger, that’s my No. 1 priority, my body. And then just getting my handle tighter, being stronger with the ball, all those kind of things.”

Reminder that Adams is playing at 5:00 today and the game is on ESPNU if you want to check it out.

One more article on Adams. This one from Borges. This is the best of the 3 if you only want to read one. Some quotes from Kimani Young in here, who was at the game on Saturday night.

"That's become a huge part of our offense, perimeter shooting," Young noted. "But to have multiple guys that can play multiple positions and switch, be able to rebound from the guard spot, I think was important for us."

"We're excited about him," said Young. "Whenever you can get a kid like that, with his pedigree. He's been a top-20 player in his class since his freshman year, plays on the EYBL Scholastic circuit. He's going to come in with experience that a lot of guys that come out of high school just don't have."

What UConn men's basketball can expect from top recruit Darius Adams: 'We got a great one'

Watching Adams now. I'll say one thing, between Adams, Reibe, and Mullins the strength and conditioning staff will have their hands full. I guess that's pretty typical of a high school kid but I hope they're hitting the weights and drinking protein shakes.

Usually the main issue it’s hard to rely on freshman, especially in the BE. Even with Flagg strength is an issue, he’s just so long and athletic it makes up for it. These three will have to drown themselves in protein shakes fast.

Eh Jeremy Lamb was a stick and he managed things pretty well. If they have the skill they have the skill at the end of the day.

Adams not looking good in this game after a rough game on Saturday. His team is getting killed. But I don't put much stock in these games.

I like junior Dylan Mingo of Long Island Lutheran. I hope UConn recruits him.

You really should put stock in these games. It's the best hs teams in tje country and these kids are playing hard.

It's just a couple bad games. His season has been very strong so far.

That's pretty much what I meant. Small sample size. He shoots foul shots very well. I think most of his points were from the line and I don't think he missed one.

Long Island Lutheran looks much better coached. Lots of 1 on 1 forced stuff from LaLumiere. A lot of that from Adams too.

I wonder if the staff will be looking at this kid in the future. Had 28 in his Hoophall Prep game. Third ranked '27 in New England from West Hartford.

I was a tad disappointed watching Darius Adams today. He didn't have a good day shooting except 9 for 9 from the line. He'll need weight lifting along with those protein shakes. Not quick or particularly athletic.
It's a big jump to the Big East.

Announcer just said, "He needs to get in the weight room." Lol
Oh I’m sure. My point was we’ve seen plenty of players have pretty good freshman years at that size.

Jeremy Lamb and more recently Rob Dillingham and Reed Sheppard were all Darius Adam’s size coming out.

So none of the three will be hitting the weights and trying to gain weight and get stronger because there's a chance they will be good without it? :)

He’s not a plus athlete - skilled and smooth, and long. He’s got at least a couple inches on Sheppard and Dillingham, so not good comparisons. He’s going to take a year or two to develop to contribute in the way everyone is hoping. He’s listed as 175-185lbs, Mullins is listed at 185. Mahaney is 185 at 6’2” for reference. First point of order, hit the weights and eat. McNeeley is 210. These two should be playing at 2-205.

Haha they should indeed work to get stronger. I don’t think it will be a deterrent into him being able to contribute early or not though.

If you’re skilled you’re skilled and Adams seems to be very skilled. I do want to actually get around to watching his hoop hall stuff if a recap is available anywhere.

He wasn't very good in either game so I'd skip it. He was trying to force things too much today. But the entire team did it. LI Lutheran looked much more like a basketball team. I was surprised because I thought LaLumiere was one of the most prestigious programs in the country.

Did Haralson play?

Sorry I didn’t see this earlier. There are several “off-shoots” of the Hoophall Classic that run concurrently at other venues. At least some of them appear to license the Hoophall name but are not run by the same group. Burlington VT played in one of these other events, the Hoophall Invitational which was played at various Springfield area High Schools.
